Can someone who has one, tell me if it is tapped for tip-up carry? Also, how's your lock-up? Example, I looking for where the liner rest on the tang ,when open. Thanks in advance, Walter.

Yes, It's set for tip-up and tip-down.

The liner measures 0.050 thick and hits about right were I like it.
Hope this helps.

A little off topic............

I received one of these in the mail on Saturday. While I love the overall design, I'm having trouble drawing the knife from and replacing the knife to my pocket. The textured G10 creates a ton of friction against the fabric of my pocket. Anybody have a suggestion?

If you have the proper Torx tool, remove the clip and bend it a little. If not, they can be pried up a little. If you do this, make sure you hold your thumb over the clip where it attaches to the scale.

I've done both before, and it's not that hard. Just go easy, and do a little bit at a time.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I received an all black Ener-G II a few days ago, it is a beefy, well made, and fast flipping folder. The linerlock is almost a framelock, its one of the thickest liner locks I have ever seen on a production knife.

YES!! That beefy liner lock on the ENER-G II could very well be my favorite part of the knife.....along with the handle, and the blade shape, and edge geometry, and the.....:D

Seriously though, it really is a tank of a liner lock and I love it. Everything on the ENER-G's feels really solid and confidence inspiring.

Also, as far as the clip is concerned, SPX is right on the money. I actually did the same thing to my ENER-G clip. The small ENER-G is what I usually carry during the summer while wearing shorts, and my shorts aren't nearly as tough as jeans, so just a slight slight bend of the clip was perfect, as long as, like SPX said, you keep pressure on the end of the clip connected to the knife so you don't do any damage to the screws of threads in the handle.

That's what I did on mine, too. Worked like a charm.

i really like the ener-g design. especially the larger one. I keep an eye out for a well centered one when the pivot isn't tight. They have the best action when loose (like the ram), but tend to be really off center closed. (the ones i've seen, bought, and sold etc)

Yeah, what the heck is it with Kershaw??? Everything they make seems to be off centered and kinda, you know, loose at the pivot when you take a torx bit and totally loosen it up. I just don't get that:rolleyes:

Weird, huh?

no one said totally loosen it up, and no one said "everything". You're just looking for something to snap at. Funny though.

On those two flippers I just like them a little looser, but not so loose that the blade wobbles on lock up (still snug). but if the liner lock is pushing a little too hard on the blade when closed, th blade will often slide off center too much and rub against the liner.

Just a personal preference on those two models. On the RAM, there is no liner lock pushing agains the blade so it's never a problem. The knife can become a virtual gravity knife and be solid as a rock open, closed and always centered.

Well mine is just about dead center and it flips open faster than any other knife I own.

the ram or the ener-g? the Ram is the fastest flipper I've ever owned. The ever-g is close, and flips great from the factory... i just get too needy and want to loosen it up. it's not a flaw, i just want to find one that maybe is flawed so if I loosen the pivot slightly, the blade remains 80% centered so it doesn't rub. both are the hottest production flippers I know of.

Sorry my Ener-G. Its an all black energy II. It looks to be perfectly dead center. It was a little off when I received it, but I took it apart, cleaned it, and lubed it well with tuff-glide. Once I put it back together it was perfectly centered and flipped faster than out of the box

Sorry OE, don't mean to be snappy. Guess I still have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth from what I perceive as needless attacks on Kershaw in the past.

Going back and reading your first post again, I can KIND OF get what you are trying to say, but it takes some work. What I'm getting at is that somebody unfamiliar with Kershaw could easily read your post and perceive you to be saying that Kershaw's ENER-G's are off center, which is a message that is unfounded and really not the type of thing that I like people who may be new to Kershaw to be seeing, as it gives a false representation of Kershaw's "out of the box" quality.

You might be posting honestly and from the heart, and if that's so, then great! But I still feel, when reading your recent posts, that you're trying to stir things up, and that upsets me.

Sorry all for going off topic on this one.

first of all, not at all... i thought i said something to the effect of liking the Ener-g's...

I fully understand that I have ruffled feathers on here... i have been as openly critical of Kershaw as openly as I have praised (or any maker for that matter). But, I would GUESS that i have given way more than i have pissed off... but I just know that's what I am apt to do (even if that makes me an %$#@& to you all). And it just doesn't play here. So, recently my new policy has been:

matter of fact stuff only. I quickly agree or disagree. and make my point about the product. I don't subscribe to any threads here. I just drop in because I have always loved the product. Since 1981 I believe.

By the way... back to point: I agree that I didn't qualify my centering thing. Not everyone coming on here is going to understand what I'm trying to say quickly or have played with as many of the knives as some of us have. Good point!

I'm not aware of anything very recent that I have said that attempted to stir anything up... as for my more candid remarks or open criticism in the past. I meant every word of it, but I keep it to myself. I'm just not as emotionally supportive enough not to get myself in trouble.

No problem jmac, one can only wonder what tomorrows posts will look like. New policies...oh goody.

Can someone define "LONG" for me please.

OE, re-read your last post, are you talking to the members here or yourself?
