I made this small white oak box several years ago when I was playing around with book-matched end grain as a decorative element. The box had been sitting empty and is roughly 4" W x 8" L x 3" H, so I decided to use it for storage of small knives. Thanks to a contribution from Haebbie and Larry's last consignment list I completed the early 500 Series and 700 Series. The five early versions of the 700s with script tang and shield are on the upper tray. The bottom holds the early versions of the 500 Series with burgundy micarta and script tang.

The knives could perhaps be changed, depending upon personal taste,
but your beautiful craftsmanship remains forever.

That turned out nice.

Very nice - the box is very well done and a great showpiece for your fine collection. Grats!

Nice box, love the book match. Your 501 needs to have an exposed rocker rivet to be the earliest.

I would have stored Cigars in it, but this is a much healthier option. Nice work!

Well, I did say early, not earliest. Someone was asking about the exposed rocker rivet on another forum (AAPK) last week. He had one that was in pretty rough shape. The blade tip could have been a screwdriver.

Wow I love the lid! Nice work on that box:thumbsup:
Of course, it looks even better fillled with knives:)
