That’s a mouthful, huh?

I need a small, thin, rechargeable LED flashlight for walking the dog.

i am super tired of Surefire single CR123a flashlights that burn through a battery in a few uses.

I have a few Klarus lights, but they are heavy for their size, and have either side on/off buttons, or no clip.

The light MUST have a clip, a tail cap on/off button (tired of fumbling between the on/off switch and the recharge port on certain Klarus lights), be rechargeable, bright, and just plain old easy to use.

Not really looking for the pencil thin type lights, a super concentrated pencil beam, nor a light with the big bulb (thrower) type heads either.

It seems like that would be a easy to find item, but is not.

Under $100, please.

Your options will depend on acceptable battery size and lumen output.
How much run time are you looking for at what lumen level?

And how small is "small"? can you live with a 18650 sized flashlight?

Countycomm inspection light. AAA so easy to find rechargeable batteries, I just use the Amazon ones. Disappears in a pocket but since it's a 2 cell it still has a great grip.

Black is alloy, costs about $25 less, silver is titanium, my favorite. 3 settings, max 425 lumens.

So yes, with a 18650 being about the same size (length) as 2 CR123 batteries, that is fine. Problem I am seeing (especially with Klarus) is that the flashlight bodies are ridiculously thick for no reason. Don’t get me wrong, I love certain Klarus lights, but why so heavy and why so thick?

Run time is not an issue as long as it can be recharged. Just tired of wasting my money on CR123 for a single battery light that lasts for an hour or two, slowly losing brightness the whole time.

Fenix LD30. Very pocketable. 1600 lumens on max, with 200 meter throw. Nice beam spill. Great run times. 17 hrs on 150 lumens, 5 hrs on 350. 2 way clip.
PD25 & PD35 are two other lights I would suggest looking at.

Thoughts on this light?

Honest opinions wanted, pretty hard to hurt my feelings!

Can’t find weight specs on it though.

Olight Warrior Nano?
Olight i5T Plus? (use rechargeable AA's)
Olight i5R EOS?

Three very different lights that all seem to fit the bill in different ways.

I don't have that particular light. But I do use an AceBeam pokelit and IMO Acebeam's build quality is very good and their specs appear to be honest.

I don't know anything about that particular model, all of my lights of that size are Fenix. Acebeam is a good brand though so you could compare its specs with Fenix, Olight, Nitecore, Thrunite. In the photo it looks a bit long, my Fenix PD35 is 5.3" long and my PD36R is 5.5" long but slightly larger than 18650 lights because it has a larger diameter battery.

I have been on a kick to find a smaller light for EDC pocket carry, an AA size light that still has good output. I'm considering the Acebeam Pokelit and Olight i5r. There is also the Nitecore MT1A Pro that has very good performance. The 18650 lights will be bigger but will have higher output and will run longer. I think for most people an honest 500 lumens is enough. I rarely run my lights at full power.

Truthfully you can find several different AA size lights that use the rechargeable batteries for under $50, and several different 18650 size lights under $100 and any of them might do what you want so it boils down to which ones look best to you and which one you like the operation of best. A lot of the light might look similar but may have slightly different operation in how the switch between modes.

My fenix e30r (no longer available) is 3 7/8'' long, 1'' at widest, and 1600 lumens, it is like a car headlite at night, runs a long long time on a charge, it has been in my pocket for 6 years now. I love this light, I think it cost $80+ back then.
It does not have the tailcap switch tho.

The Acebeam Pokelit is a nice looking EDC. May have to try one.

A weird thing I've noticed- that model comes in a variety of colors with a wide range of pricing between them so look for that wherever you are looking to purchase. The basic 550 lumen green model on Amazon is $19.99, other colors are $29.95 or higher. There is a brand new version that is 1000 lumens that starts at $23.99.

It's worth noting that Olight is having a pretty big black friday sale on their website right now. Some real nice deals to be had...

Another vote for the AceBeam Pokelite. Carrying one right now
I have the 1000 lumen version on the way to me right now.

Edit- the light arrived today. It is significantly smaller than the Fenix PD25 I was carrying. Compared to my Fenix lights it throws a wider beam which would be more useful for most tasks but not so good if you want to throw a beam a long way outdoors. It is replacing the Fenix for my pocket EDC. I took the clip off of the Fenix because I never use it so I'll probably do the same thing with the new one to reduce the bulk even more.
