Last December I asked for some advise on buying a stockman. After reading the advise I bought a Case 63087 Medium stockman with Delrin slabs. Since then I have been adding slowly to my traditional collection, and I thought I would share some photos.

From Left to Right - an Imperial "Shorty", my most recent aquisition a Case Medium Stockman 3318, a Robeson Pattern #822850, the Case 63087 that I bought in December, and an Owl Head that was recently gifted to me by my brother. Missing from the photo, my Buck 110 bought a while back at a big box store.

And of course the obligatory open blade shot.

Thanks to all the folks here at the traditional forum who have started another chapter in my knife addiction:D

Next on the list a Buck 301 - I am thinking Cherry Dymondwood slabs...

I like them. Great start to your collection. Gotta love them yeller handles.

Hi,

A very nice set. It's not always how many, but what those you do have mean to you.

So what do you think of the Congress pattern?

I had been longing over that yellow handled Case for a long time, drooling a little each time I would pass by the cutlery case at the outdoor store, it is definitely my current favorite. They have a yellow Sodbuster Jr. in the case that has been calling my name as well.

So what do you think of the Congress pattern?

It seems a little big for pocket carry at times, but I like the pattern, I think I will look at a higher quality version down the road. Maybe something like a Case 64052 SS with Green Bone handles.

Chewy, a love of knives is a lotta fun. i got serious about checking out folders of all patterns, any maker, about 3 1/2 years ago. now i have "quite a few" and enjoy checking out each new arrival. the history of the various brand names is complex, but researching in various BF forums gives a lot of mostly accurate information that makes each knife more meaningful.
i'm sure your collection will grow faster than you expect because there's always another well made, interesting knife, 'out there'. like, there is no end to this hobby.

The Imperial Shorty is a cool little knife, as you can see from the pictures, it says "Another Lou Fox Original" on one side...I am guessing it was a giveaway from some business. On the other side it has the address "220 S. State St." and the phone number "Wa 2-8448" - it tickles me that it is old enough to still have the old style phone numbers.

Plus it was given to me by my father-in-law, who was a great guy, the summer before he passed away...it was just something he had lying around that he was gonna sell at a garage sale, but he gave it to me instead

"Well begun is half done."

Alright, I doubt you are "half done" with your collection but you are certainly "well begun".

Hi,

I kind of feel the same way about the Congress. But they do carry better than a guy thinks they might. I'm starting to want a more upscale one myself.

That's the problem with these slippies, just when you think you have "your" pattern. You discover another one that wins your eye.:)
