Small Camp knife, Meaner Street, Leaner Meaner Street or Active Duty

I am looking for a small camp knife. I though I wanted an Active Duty, but I saw on the Busse company store that they have the Mean streets.

The standard blade thickness seems to large as compared to my Grove master, I think I want something thinner and sharper more like my Henkel kitchen paring knife but with a tougher blade for use in the field.

Seems a shame to use a collectors addition for a camp knife.

I have already ordered a skeleton Key.

What do you all think.

Hi Ed,
I have recently purchased the Leaner Meaner Street. Makes a perfect small outdoor knife. I also habe the GM, which sometimes seemed a bit heavy, and the AD, which I always wished to have a bit longer blade. The LMS seems to be the perfect knife, lightweight, useful, perfect handle ... that's what I vote for.

I like the extra thickness of the Meaner Street. They are my favorite knives. I dont know how much lighter or better of a slicer the Leaner meaner is as I dont own one. Perhaps someone who owns and uses both could chime in.

You could wait to find a Leaner Meaner, or AD on a private sale, or, you could just grab the LE Meaner from the company store. Actually I think they may even have a Snakeskin/Satin finish left as well. I would email the Company store and ask.

To heck with that.... get yourself a HO FSH or a HO FBM.

Go big or go home! :D

The AD appears to be a great all around knife. Not sure it would be long enough for camping purposes. I would think more along the lines of a Badger Attack Ergo. Just about the right size, IMHO. Second choice might be a Meaner Street, not a lot of girth on this knife. Might make it hard to do some of the larger camping chores. Oh what the heck... get em all!
