Got my CF DT small 21 today and I am absolutely thrilled over it. Sharp as hell, beautiful carbon fiber slab, and the DT blade just speaks for itself. I can't say enough! BF/CRK-subforum member Unit was telling me how you can feel the damascus layers roll over the ball as you push it open and that has to be my favorite thing about how this knife feels so far. I cut open several boxes with it today because my new power supply, higher grit whetstones, and some non-knife related things all came in the mail at the same time. I honestly cannot wait to take this knife out into the woods and use it on my next camping trip.

As some of you know, I polished my front scale on plain jane small 21 about a month ago now. It was cool for a while but I got over it and wanted the bead-blasted finish back on my front scale. In the now 2 months I've had my 21 I've beat on it relentlessly, wore in the blasted Ti with snail trails everywhere, polished it, accumulated even more marks in the polished finished, and now I've anodized it blue and personally I think it looks quite good! Please excuse some of the smudging that shows up in a couple pics, I was just fondling the newly anodized scale! I hope someone else takes pleasure in viewing my itty bitty little CRK family as much as I do...I guess it's more like a CRK couple, actually!

Thanks for sharing! Those really go good together. I love my CF sebenza and think the damascus ones look even better.

I have a couple William Henry Damascus knives but none from CRK. Your CF Damascus blade makes me think I need one like that. I thank you for sharing and giving me the idea. My wallet hates the idea however.

Great pair of CRKs. Enjoy!

Very nice!

So...did it come with the sheath or not?

That DT blade looks HOT with the blue stud. Very nice;)

It did come with the slip sheath so I'm lead to believe that only the plain janes do not come with them? Still unsure since I've only bought two CRK.

Heres my contribution, CF and Damascus go well together.

Wow...Basketweave was my first choice of pattern but KineArt only has raindrop and ladder! Yours looks incredible.

Glad you guys enjoyed viewing them FordFan and Tactical45!

I like them all. The basket weave is the hardest to wrap my head around though. I'd love to see how it's made sometime.

I was on the fence between the carbon fiber and micarta. I like how both have the darker compliment to the Damascus AND blasted Ti elsewhere. You have a nice piece there. It will take a very refined edge when it comes time to sharpen if you like that type of edge.

As an aside, I want to share the transformation my small plain jane has undergone.

Thank you brother, my jealousy of your Micarta DT could be kept at bay no longer! It seems we had the same knives in mind and just chose the opposite ones. I keep my edges fairly polished at all times. Not mirror polished but very sharp by anyones standards. I'll let you know how sharp I can manage to get it when the times comes! In fact I just got some new stones so I'm excited for that day. You're far more edge conscious than I, though, and most likely more skilled. I've been using a sharp maker and a variety of whetstones+strops for many years. Using those things I've gotten halfway decent at achieving smooth, very sharp (well beyond shaving), and even edges but I wouldn't consider myself a true edge fiend out of respect for how deep the art of sharpening is (beyond the underlying goal being quite simple, make...sharp...haha).

Too excited to take the great pics that Zeta and Cookie took, but these two came today. My first two Sebenzas ever. My first Umnumzaan will be here tomorrow.
Pretty stoked to put these to use. And for those lurking for a long time and trying to take the plunge and buy one (and like me - wondering if they are worth it), the answer is YES! they live up to the hype. Flawless beautiful work of art tools.

Very cool! What inlay is that on the small, Gabon? I'm jealous of your inbound Umnum!

Congrats on your new knife.
Is there a specific reason only the front scale is anodized?

That is the Snakewood. Very hard to see with my crappy pic. Once I get to use it and carry it around today, I'll try to get some better pics of it. Here's one a little closer.

It sounds like you know your stuff. When it comes time, I will suggest backing off on the pressure on the DT. It seems to respond well and come up in sharpness very quickly. I finished mine on DMTs and took it up to 8000. It's far from polished, but fairly refined. It seems to work well at this level...but I'm still experimenting.

Two reasons. I need at least one grippy, blasted Ti side, for feel in the hand and so I don't lose it when apply pressure for something like feathering out wood for example. Next reason, I like the contrast. Thanks!

Very good to know. In my experience, pressure is what will make or break your edge once you've gotten to the point of smooth, consistent, "programmed" strokes if you know what I mean? I refine up to 8K too. My latest procedure for a full sharpening, depending on how dull I've let my knife get, is to start at 500 grit on whetstone, then 700 whetstone, move to fastened sandpaper 800, 1000 , and 2000 (abrasives oiled at each stage). Afterwards I wash off honing oil then I strop on a two sided bench strop (compound loaded) and finish off stropping on a 8000 grit micromesh cloth fastened to my bench. I feel this is the stage at which I personally can get the sharpest and most durable edge that I am capable of. Not exactly super polished but quite fine in it's own right.

p.s. my arm hair is NOT that short. my arms were looking a little bare so I popped a few off of my face after not properly shaving for a couple of days. Knowing that should bring you a snicker or two lol. It can be difficult to portray a blades sharpness via picture alone, I'll take more convincing shots later on.

My Raindrop Damascus & CF EDC scale by Barry H

Sebe_21_SS_Damascus_CF_1.JPG

That scale follows my edc choice, bounces back & forth from this blade to a Insingo.

The blade is about 6 yrs old now....
...been used lots.

Very beautiful knives everyone...

As an FYI, the plain Jane's and micarta Sebbies do not have the leather sheath included.

That anodized blue handle knife looks good. Do you plan on doing the other side as well? Enjoy your new knife.

Thanks man. Nope, just the front scale. I like the contrast and grip of the lock side scale. I might do it down the road when I switch colors eventually, but no immediate plans.

Thank you for clarifying, I've been wondering for a while now. It seems the micarta Sebenzas with DT blades do, however, come with pocket sheaths. Anyone want to share if the plain Jane's with DT blades come with pocket slips or not?
