Small Carnivore Problem

I received a new Carnivore as a birthday gift from my wife. Alas, the thumb stud is not tight. I have considered some lock tight to secure it. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'd send it back to REKAT. Since that's the last thing you want to do with a new knife, try this. Find the tiny allen wrench that fits the little bolt holding the thumbstud. Take a pair of hemostats and wrap the jaws with electrical tape, or pad them with pieces of leather. Hold the thumbstud with the hemo's and use the allen wrench to remove the bolt. Dress the bolt with a tiny bit of Lok-tite, then re-install it. Remember to turn the bolt and not the thumbstud. I've never had this problem myself, but that's how I'd try to fix it.

Thanks for your reply. I agree sending it back is a tough choice since it took over 1 month to get it. The thumb studs on my knife have no allen key hole, or any other hole either. They are two round domes. That is probably why they are loose in the first place...no way to tighten them. However, I think your suggestion is sound. I'll find a way to grip them and lock tight them for all time.

I'll be darned. You have dual thumbstuds. Too cool. Now I'm jealous.

I also have dual studs on my green G-10 carnivore. Anyone know how they come off?

My green Carnivore had dual studs that were also loose. I put a piece of masking tape on the ends of 2 pairs of pliers and tightened them. I've had no problems since. I suppose you could use some locktight but I didn't find it neccesary in my situation.
