I'm looking for a small case that can be carried on a belt to hold a few items like a compass, firesteel, etc. Is there anything out there besides a small camera case?

Thanks!

there are always the military pouches. Many of them can be belt worn. Have you checked any of the mil surp outlets?

Really wouldn't call it a wallet. It's alot bigger in person and can fit alot of things in it.

I got a m.o.l.l.e gear gadget pouch for Christmas and like it. Sounds perfect for what your after.

Look for small utility packs at various sites. A little bigger than what's been shown so far. Generally about 6" x 6". Get one with molle, then use malice clips as belt loops. I used to carry my essentials--wallet, keys, pill box--in one of these.

How about a regular old fanny pack? Jansport, eagle creek, etc. They aren't the coolest kids on the block but it's a time proven design.

Many thanks for all the suggestions. Very, very helpful!!!

I carry a Maxpedition M2 Waistpack on my left hip almost every day. In it I have my cellphone, flashlight (Inova X1 or X5) , notebook, one pen, one marker, 1oz bottle hand lotion, Ibuprofen in an aluminum capsule, some band-aids and 1 or 2 pieces of hard candy. The M2 has a belt loop, but I use 2 alice clips to attach it to my belt because I can get it on and off really fast and it just seems to ride a little better that way.

If I want to carry more things on my belt, I'll pull out my M1 waist pack. That thing will hold a bit more. And if that ones not big enough, I'll by a M5, now that pack is Huge!!
