Small Classic identification help

Hello everyone. I just picked up a used small classic and Im looking for help on what the blade steel might be and a guess of the year. It has the old style clip without the extra hump and there is no stamp on the inside of the scale. Also no S stamp on the blade. So I'm guessing ATS 34 or maybe BG42.

Wow. I just found the stamp. It was on the other side near the standoff. It says A 00 so I guess it's on of the first Classics. I think Classics started with S30v but, there is no stamp on the blade so not really sure on the steel.

The blade steel is BG-42 since that was used from 10/1996 to 1/2002.

Yeah, sometimes the date stamp in on the the opposite side as they are on now. With mine, its that way on my BG-42 Sebenzas. If there is no "S", its BG-42 as ATS-34 ended in 1996. You dont see too many Classics with BG-42, so you scored a nice one. Congrats.
