Hey guys,

I'm new here and this is my first thread post, so if I am doing anything wrong don't hesitate to let me know. I will be glad to correct it.

I have been into collecting knives now for about 3 months, mostly mid-tech and custom folders. Recently I have decided that I want to venture into collecting and carrying small custom fixed blade (4.5"-6" overall). Any pictures/information of knives in this category or certain makers to look at would be greatly appreciated. My taste would be more of a hunting/general duty style knife and not so much tactical/self defense style.

I want to add that I am not posting this as a wanted add I do not plan on buying anything right away, just wanted to expand my knowledge base about these types of knives and find out information about makers the fall into this category.

Thanks I look forward to finding out information from you guys and seeing some cool pictures.

Check out the fixed blade section of the Knifemaker's market here.

There are a lot of guys making well priced hunting/utility style blades in pocket friendly sizes.

Wilson Knives in Hayesville, NC. Mike makes a lot of beautiful and practical small fixed blade knives. "Alan's pattern" is a great one. He is on the forum as well.

Thanks guys for all the info and keep it coming.

jmac30 I'm really liking that Alan Davis, I'm going to have to check him out.

There are a lot of great makers here that make what you're looking for. I have several by JK Knives and for a working blade I recommend him highly.
I was just ogling this beauty by Matt Bailey. He's been making quite a few pocket fixed blades lately. If you can grab one before someone else gets it you'll be lucky.

Wow that is a beauty, exactly the type of knife I had in mind.

Thanks
Watch the exchange. He posts them every so often in the Makers, fixed blade, subforum. They sell quickly though so you best be ready.
