Small custom hunter/utility/tactical wanted

I had finally decided that today would be the day that I sat down and ordered one of Neil Blackwood's awesome small hunters with the tac/utility handle. I go to Neil's website for some order info and what do I find, a note stating that Neil is no longer accepting custom orders :( Took me most of the day to get over this one.

While I am still confident that I will order one when Neil opens up the gates again, I really need something to hold me over in the meantime. What I am looking for is a list of maker's/models that offer the same level of versatility but have that tactical flair and just look cool. Steel choices would be S90V, S30V, D2 or 52100 for starters. Prefer micarta or G-10 for handle material. Kydex sheath is preferred. 3 1/2" blade would be perfect, but can go up to 4".

The closest I have seen is the ArcLite from DDR. I have checked out Bob Dozier (again  ) and could not find anything that really lit my fire visually. Mike Snody has some gorgeous creatures but are not obtainable. So come fella's, help me out. Who would you recommend.

In case your wondering, here is a picture of the knife I desire (courtesy of Neil's site).

Check out the latest Tactical KNives. The article on Backpacking Knives shows a bunch of small utility type sheath knives. The Dozier Wilderness model looks excellent.

I would look at Scott Cook, I believe he does some real custom stuff, if you have some ideas on what you want to see...... The Owyhee is a great looking knife, you might ask Scott if he has any different style of handles for the Owyhee and maybe even blade finishes?

It is hard to come up with anything as visually stunning as the Blackwood small hybrid. The picture you have posted is mine and I carry it every day. I don't need to tell you that fit and finish are flawless and it cuts like nobody's business.

If we are lucky Outdoor Edge may produce a prodcuction version.

Front1/4 - I ordered a large Owyhee, great knife, but lacking that tactical flair I'm after. Might check back with Scott about a custom handled version. Thanks for the tip.

Dennis - great taste! I will have one, just a matter of when.

Keep the ideas coming guys.

Though totally different, look at the profile lines
in this and compare
so different but so the same.
I made the first one years ago.

Guys, let's be careful not to turn this thread into a "for sale" venue.

Any specific ideas/prices/availability should be exchanged privately via email, not in this forum.

Otherwise, carry on.

Thanks.

 Sorry
 if your referring to me..
I'm not selling,, just comparing,,
if I were selling you'll see the hole HTML there.
as I said and as simple as that,
I just thought it was interesting two
knives being so different yet the profile so close
by two maker that don't know each other.

Dan,

No problem, you weren't being singled out. Just wanted to head off any possible issues at the pass, so to speak.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I would suggest David Dempsey. I don't think there is anything he can't do. Give him a call as he is more than willing to design somthing around your ideas and is the absolute nicest guy to work with.

Gotta give a nod to AZGlock21's suggestion of contacting David Dempsey. I've handled a variety of his blades and the design and finish are first rate. He's seems to really enjoy turning your ideas into a working blade and you will not find a maker more passionate about building knives. He is definitely on the "must see 'em and fondle 'em list" for me at Blade!
Stay Safe,
Clyde
