Small Damascus & Stag Bowie

I finished this small bowie a few days ago. Earlier today I found a little time (?) and I snapped a few quick 'n dirty shots for my records.

It's your typical mix of 15n20 & 1084 damascus. The blade is a ladder-pattern while everything else is a W's mosaic design. Filework on the spacer and a nice piece of Sambar Stag.

The blade is 5.5" and the overall length is 10". It's a compact, comfortable little Bowie. Hope you enjoy it.

That's a slick piece I like the dark stag and the filed butt cap is quite striking.

WOW! Very nice! Beautiful damascus, nice stag ( a little too dark to my taste). The details are amazing. Will you look at that buttcap!

Nice work!

Kind regards,

Jos

that's a nice stag pillow! Love the way it transitions into the ferrule:thumbup:
The hilt is beeeautiful! I generally am not very turned on by a plate style hilt, but this one is sick!
And the last thing I'll mention is that I think your logo is awesome! I read you're a herpetologist and I can see that interest reflected in this knife. That is art right there m'man.:D

P.s- is there such a thing as snake belly damascus?

Terry - I like everything except the fileworked spacer. I would rather see one thick bronze or copper spacer, slightly wider than the 2 ferrules, and rounded. Alternatively, 3 thin spacers separating the guard from ferrule 1, then F1 from F2 and finally F2 from the handle.

Generally, I find that spacers work best when they provide a more obvious visual and tactile transition. However, I recognize this is a personal taste thing.

Thanks for the kind comments, guys. It's hot, HOT here in Mississippi. Down here we don't make a lot of damascus this time of year. But and I do have a couple big half-finished bars lying on the shop floor and we might just have to think about some of that "snake-belly" damascus! LOL

Cheers,
