So this is my first new thread on this forum and I hope to get some good recommendations.
I'm looking for a small edc knife along the lines of a spyderco cricket but for a little less and I'm willing to sacrifice on the steel. So far I'm considering the ashenworth turtle, the spyderco cricket and ladybug, and the SOG flash one. Any suggestions?

If you want cheap, small and reliable how about a Mini-Buck? But, I predominantly carry a plain edge Spyderco Dragonly 2.

I have the cricket and love it. VG-10 is a very good steel. It has a great pocket clip, and the SS and Etched versions have a super thin profile b/c they use the frame lock.

And I really like the blade on the cricket but I'm not sure I want to drop the money on it yet.

Spyderco Manbug. Check out the version with the bolsters also. Go to cutleryshoppe...can I say that on here? Also dragonfly and ladybug. Options with zdp steel I heard are awesome.

I'm very interested in the new Cold Steel Micro Recon. 2" of AUS-8 and the triad lock will make for an unnecessarily tough little folder. After you strip off the crappy teflon coating, I'm pretty sure it will look quite good too. For $25, I would say it's a great deal.

I think the blade is just a smidge to small on the BOKER. Im really looking for something small enough to be un intimidating to the common ignorant bystander but enough to accomplish the majority of edc tasks so the recon micro is just on the edge for me at 2 in.

The knife I carry most and which is the most "people friendly" one I have is the Ladybug. I have one serrated VG-10 and one plain H1. I put on a small lanyard to extend the handle. Makes opening and closing the blade easier and it's more comfortable.

I would choose the spyderco kiwi 3, it's an awesome little knife for around 20$, it's one of my favorite EDC blades

I love my wharcom
