The title is a bit of a teaser. "A small, engraved, stout knife...". Nope. It's what I said! :)

OK, I did two views, because I wanted to satisfy two artists. Here is the Engraver version:

Coop, its just not done until you say its done.....and what a fabulous subject you chose:eek:

Right on to both maker and historian....

Talk about work from 3 individuals that ends up in a masterpiece.

One heck of a stunning knife.

Normally engraving doesn't do anything for me, but on this knife it really works. An all around excellent looking knife.

Thanks, men. Neither of these two guys are newcomers to the field--Johnny and Jim have each been making knives for about 30 years plus. After a while you 'get' it... ;)

Jim is a very respected moderator on the Fine Embellishment forum on the KN. His work has a signature style and flavor that always brings out the best in a piece. I owe him more than a few favors. In the near future you will see why, and it won't have anything to do with engraving. :) He is fixing a new-to-me bowie from my VERY favorite maker. Stay posted.

Johnny's work in-hand is a clinic on good fitment and finish.

This one is heading your way, Keith. 'North' to Canada...

I see that kind of knife and I know why I don't have any money.

Engraving used to be the least of my concerns on a knife. I know better now, and that is the kind of work that made me change my mind.

Greeting form the "North"....:D

Coop, you did a great job on the photo- as always.

This knife of Johnny's won the Best in Show at the recent BAKCA show- and that was "before" the engraving.

Take care all,

Neil

damn fine pics as always Coop!

a sweet piece, whew!!!!!!!!!!!
