which is the better knife-the stiff kiss or the boker nealy? is the nealy really worth the extra money? other than some minor differences i didn't think the boker justified the extra cost.

I considered the Stiff Kiss just because it is so inexpensive. Also I've seen some add-on stag or jigged bone handles made by some individuals that really made the knives look good, I think on Bladeauction.

But I'd suggest you also take a look at Chiro75's review of small fixed blades. I don't know about the Boker Nealy, but that review led me to my first small fixed blade purchase, and I wasn't even in the market.

Just search under this category by "Small Fixed Blade" and you're sure to find it.

As with any Custom collaboration, a big part of the cost is going to be liscencing. Just check out Spyderco's prices. Custom vs. non Custom, that is.
Personally, I'd go with the Stiff Kiss.
NOTE: The Tantos are chisel ground; while the Modified Drop point is Hollow-Ground.
and I REALLY like my MDP KISS. Also, one of the things I really don't like about Nealy's knives is that it seems really easy to slide your hand forward. Not so with the KISSes.
good luck

There is A new version of the Boker/Nealy available. It is called the escort. It has A zytel handle instead of G10. Otherwise basically the same.9 position sheath. About 1/2 the price of the specialist. Hope this helps....bteel

Three words... Allen Blade's blades... Custom at a production price, and great kydex work to boot!

I'm with copfish, although I was trying to get you to read Chiro's review to see the results. I'm waiting on my Chipmunk, and know I will be very pleased, not to mention Mr. Blade seems a very nice fellow.

Look at my Photopoint page. I have both (actually I have two Bokers) and they do not compare. The Boker is 440C, the CRKT is AUS8. The CRKT is chisel ground, very narrow blade, Boker is wider and double ground. Even with stag handle the CRKT looks cheaper... The REAL difference is the sheath.

BTW: If you look into For Sale forum, you can find Bokers around 60.00 USD and that is not too bad???

I have the best!
It is original design of a shop, made with Japanese style forgeing.
It is 6",2" blade drop point, all carbon steel.
I made Kydex sheath for it to neck carry.
It is the best knife!

Newt Livesay's Woo will do everything that the Boker will do. The price makes it disposable. The MDP Kiss is nice, Livesay's LP is in the same neighborhood at around the same price.
