Small Framelock?

Any thoughts for a small framelock? I've got a Mnandi but it's a bit too small, something in the Delica size I think would be perfect. Can't be made by CRK or Spyderco and I'd like it to be more dress and less tacticool. You know, something you could leave on the office desk and people won't think you're trying to overthrow your manager.
Oddly enough, even though I think the Mnandi is too small and I don't like it, I can't put it down!!

Why not try a Bradley Alias II? Great smaller knife and made by Benchmade so covered by their warranty.

Not sure how you feel about CRKT, but the SS Drifter is an excellent knife and priced oh so right.
Although rather expensive for a CRKT, the Eros is another choice.

The Kershaw Leek screams 'more dress and less tacticool'. Comes in a whole wack of different configurations at a pretty low cost.

Ya... but it screams (auto...) when it snaps into place from it's spring mechanism... not very sheeple friendly. It is a nice design though.

Heres another vote for the Bradley Alias II. I have one I carry when I play dress up. I EDC the Alias I and I have not found another knife to take it's place.

 Not a huge fan of CRKT, but have to give a big :D to the Drifter. I think I paid about $19 for mine and it sits almost completely un-noticed on my desk every day. Very sharp out of the box -- flicks out quick and locks up tight.

My faves, ymmv, and there may be others.

1. A small Seb inlay. The inlay dresses it up a lot, if you're leaving it in plain sight, and makes it a lot more "friendly."

2. Mini Skimish. Nice decorative pattern on the handles, doesn't scream "knife." It's disco'd but still available if you look around.

3. Sage 2. Great knife, right size, but is a little on the plain side so nothing to distract the casual viewer from the concept of "knife."

how small are we talking, 3 3/8 small enough ? kershaw scamp model 2710, under 30 bucks, stainless framelock, well made.

Out of all the framelocks I owned I will say that I was not a big fan of the Bradley alias.. I eventually purchased a buck TNT and was very impressed with the fit and finish, overall much better then the alias. Then I got a couple of sebenzas and it was over with, they were much better then bucks TNT. They are probably the best knives I have had a pleasure to hold in my hands.

But.. if you want a nice, cheap, small framelock I don't think the leek can be beat, if you don't mind the auto assist, though you can take the spring out. I would skip the bradly's and get a buck mayo TNT if you can't afford or don't want to spend the money on a sebenza. The buck mayo is the best production frame lock I have had... sebenzas on another level, semi-custom...

How about a Large Mnandi? I'm still waiting for Chris to make this model, but in my mind it's just a tad larger than the small Sebbie, but still has the elegant, wood-flavored, look of the small Mnandi that works so well with a suit.

I'd buy one (or three!!!).

without the restrictions, small Sebenza.

with your restrictions of brand, but ignoring the framelock part maybe check out William Henry knives.

other than that, I'd say Buck Mayo. small framelock that isn't a Sage 2 or Sebenza is tough.

you can take the spring out of the leek, but then it has no detent, so unless he plans on putting one in, or having one put in i wouldnt advise taking the spring out.

Oh... well then never mind about taking the spring out unless you want to get stabbed in the leg form the blade opening in your pocket :(..

If he wants one, he should send it to me. I have removed the assist and drilled a detent on a ZT300 and it should be the same steps with a Kershaw.

I love the idea of a large Mnandi!

I'm a little nutty with my collection lately and would prefer not to have dup manufacturers, hence no CRK's or Spydie's, or Kershaws. Benchmade - I like 'em, just don't love 'em. 2.75 inch blade would be perfect. Maybe I'll browse the makers area or somethin or check ACK. Keep the ideas comin'! Man, an LE mini-seb would be kinda cool...

Go custom. Talk at Reese Weiland. He can fix you right up for under $400.
