I've had the chance to try out a couple of small pocket fixed blades that are a collaboration between JK Knives and Kyenglish. Kyenglish designed four pocket fixed blade knives and John with JK Knives made the blades. Kyenglish then finished them with handles, lanyard with bead, and sheaths.

Pocket Rocket (top) and Pocket King (bottom)

This Pocket Rocket was the first one Kyenglish did and hosted a small passaround with. His handle finishing has improved since this first one. 4"oal with 2" blade.

The Pocket King which I won in a Halloween giveaway. 5" oal, with a 2 1/2" blade.

With sheaths

I have been carrying and using a pocket fixed blade turkey hunting for a few years now. So when Kyenglish posted these up I jumped at the chance to try one out. I've been carrying one of these for my EDC for almost two months now. During that time I had a successful fall turkey season and added squirrel to the game bag.

(Only in use photo I have, hard to take pics and clean game at the same time)

I didn't feel like I needed more knife cleaning either turkeys or squirrel.

Let's hear what everybody uses for cleaning small game to turkey's, and photos are encouraged.

I like the wharny! The modified piercing tip with a little curve to a wharncliffe looks like a good hybrid.

The thick handle at the end for palm swell looks like it would lock in the hand with enough blade for a lot of uses.

A tough versatile little knife from the looks of it,

Thanks KYturkey, glad the handles got better! :)

Like I said though I like a small knife but since I don't hunt or process game in anyway I'm really glad you volunteered to see how they'd do, also happy to hear it seems to have gone well!

I've final managed to get myself one, the Rover,

maybe I'll take up turkey hunting to try it for myself, that meat looks nice enough I might just try it!

That Rover is a handsom little knife.

I've got this one in the works for my next SGK, I actually did 4 designs all based on this exact blade shape, I'll end up making all 4 sooner or later.

But as of now, my small game knife is the same as my large game knife, a 2.5" blade drop point hunter in 1084 and walnut made for me by my good bud DanCo in TX...knife in action here...

They look great! wow! I prefer a full size handle with the small blades, though--I like 4 full fingers on my knives.

I'd recommend the JK bluegill, I don't handle them but it has a longer grip and it looks damn handy. My favorte is still the Toby's knife but that's bigger (6.75" OA)

thanks, Mack, it actually has a fault at the back - didn't finish rounding it all the way to the spine by about 5 mm on one side - i could finish sanding it but it would go back to 60 grit to do it and frankly it was a nice excuse to keep it :) it did come out pretty

Oh, I see how it is. Ya make an imperfect knife just so you can keep it. It's a great way to increase your collection of nice knives.
:D
