Yup. I got that itch. The itch for another JK knife.

I am thinking about getting a small game knife. Which JK knife would you recommend for small game?

I think the right answer here is the Toby's Knife. I am also considering the pocket muk. i saw that stag version that HWF won from Myke, and i fell in love (thanks guys).

I am interested to hear any other knives that y'all might suggest.

Thanks.

The ultralight hunter passaround knife would be good as well.

Posting more pics this evening

Here are a "few"

Bluegill
Fin & Feather
Toby`s Knife
Potawatomi Necker
Mini Appalachia
Huron EDC

I must now add Pocket Rocket to the list.

To me it screams squirrel/rabbit knife!

:D or the TK, but I guess you knew I would say that. Apart from Johns list (almsot perfectly reflects my wish list FYI) i'd say the riverwoods might be good to.

I think Johns list is spot on. I'd personally go with a design that is based on a slim blade with less belly and more of an acute point. That's just my personal preference for small game / trout.

Toby's Knife, the Bluegill and the F&F would be tough to beat but anything mentioned so far would be a great choice as well and would also provide a lot of general utility.

Actually, I would use the Pocket Muk as more of a skinner (I have one) and I don't really skin small game as much as "peel" it for lack of a better term.

thanks guys.

and sean, i agree that the muk is more of a skinner. but i have used a downsized Muk before on a rabbit and liked it. i'm goofy like that. i think i just like the shape of it overall. i think it's a "romantic" thing. :D

i also agree with your blade shape preference. i was going to add that to this post. i am looking for a <= 1" blade height.

BUT...HWF was nice enough to do a little switcheroo for a bit to give me some hands-on time with his pocket muk and TK, so i can do a comparison. thanks Hugh!

Funny you mention. I was thinking about the RWC. The size is right and i like how the tip is below the midline of the handle...or so it seems.
