Small Handle

Hi,
I got my Tops Pathfinder knife today and while I like everything about the knife the handle is uncomfortable for the size of my hand. I don't have a big hand but I have long fingers.

Is the only way to fix this to buy new micarta scales?

I think I might be better selling the knife and buying a new one but most sites don't show the handle size and width. Living in NYC there aren't any knife store you can pick up some knives and try them out.

Any help is appreciate it.

What is a palm loaded grip? Is that when you grab the handle with a lanyard in your hand?

I wrap all of the fixed-blades I own that have micarta, g-10, or other plastic handles, with a long strip of bicycle innertube. Not only does it give me an incredible grip but it allows me to basically change the shape of the handle by wrapping it more/thicker in some areas than in others, or simply making the entire handle beefier by wrapping the entire thing evenly and thickly. It does take a bit of practice to get the end of the strip properly secured, but it's not very complicated. And a new innertube can be purchased for just a few bucks at Walmart.
