I wanted to share something funny that happened to me this morning. I live in Alexandria, VA, and was in need of some 123 batteries for a new flashlight. I did some digging around and found that Matt D. Tactical, who happens to deal in everything I like, including Hinderer, was a few miles away and had 123 in stock.

When I arrived this morning, I told him that I was also a "Matt D.", and he asked me my last name, so I told him "Donohue." Turns out we are both Matt Donohue! Always weird to meet someone with your same name, spelling, etc, but for it also to be someone who love guns and knives...that is plain crazy.

Anyway, I am really excited to have such a resource here locally, and I know he will steer me straight for future acquisitions. Below are a few shots of the blue ti standoffs and screws on the XM-18. I am planning on adding the blue ti pivot screw, clip and maybe some smooth carbon or translucent (probably both) in the new year.

Very nice xm and nice pics. Im not so sure I'd want to live in close proximity to matt D. Tactical...too hard on the wallet!

Hey Matt, nice shots - I like the blue w/ the FDE scale.

I'm also a big fan of the CF and Trans w/ blue, here's some trans and blue:

I really like the little accents, like the blue of the pivot screw poking out on the lockside..

Hmm, think I might carry this one today :)

Nice shots! I have a set of bronze ano screws and standoffs too, like how you have mixed them. Yep, I am going to get the trans as well as the carbon in 2014...man, so much to buy, so little time!

I would like to add, as cool as it is to have the same name of a knife shop owner that happens to carry really cool stuff... It's worse having the same name of a knifemaker that also makes really cool stuff, that you can't afford:) (well, I should say choose to spend my money on other cool knifemakers products).

Cheers:)

These are copper, somewhat brighter than the bronze although those would look great too IMO.

That is a really funny story! I live in Fairfax, VA and I also purchased my Hinderer knife at MattDTactical.

Well, let me get this straight if you live in Northern Virginia and want to visit him. His shop is actually located in a warehouse where people sell construction stuff. So don't get confused after you open the main door and think you come to the wrong place. Just say you want to see Matt, an old man will take you to his small workshop. Before a day you want to come, you should call to talk to him about items you want to buy. He said to me that his business hours were from Mon-Fri, 7:30am - 2:30pm. Matt is nice guy :)

Wow man, what a trip right? My last name Is so unique, my mother and I may be the only ones with that name left, anywhere. The name was changed during World War 2 to evade the Nazis...that's the story anyway. But damn Matt, that's a super funny story, I love when things like that happen...gives you a sense of something bigger than us pulling the strings. Fate kind of thing you know?
