I call this one the "Hunter`s Hawk." It was made for the hunter or woodsman who does not like to carry a full size hawk or hatchet.

Here are the specs:
11" overall
Head measures 4" from front to back
3 1/4" cutting edge
made from 1/4" thick O1
weight is 20 oz
oak handles with brass pins and lanyard tube
I left the slightest bit of heat treat finish on it

Choked up grip for fine work.

It's soooo cool.

I want it...which makes me think of my dad. "Want in one hand and..."

Great looking Hunter's Axe. Have you tried it for establishing a camp, obtaining fire wood and splitting, cutting bone, etc.? I'm with M3mphis and cdknow83 when it comes to having one of these,

This is one sweet hawk. That back end will drive anything you could normally drive with a 20 oz hammer. My Urban hawk from JK has about an inch more of a poll on it that is double ground like a chisel and it goes through locks and door handles like an angel grantin wishes.

Robin, I'm all for going and getting a moose and maybe we can talk J K into letting us do an evaluation. If we can not talk him into the evaluation we will just have to settle for 400+ pounds of moose meat.

Gorgeous. I wish I could afford one of these.

I saw a similar tool made by Smith & Wesson today. It felt pretty good in the hand.

But I'd trust the metallurgy of skilled tradesman over that of a commercially made product.

Do you think that the back end is large enough to maybe drive a stake?

I think that the narrow poll would have a tough time with small wire tents stakes. It would do fine with spikes or hardwood stakes. The narrow poll would soon damage softwood stakes, though it would drive them.

Hey Bro
You're always welcome here in the wilds of Haliburton. The Moothes are always very predictable as to where they hang out in the winter. We don't need no steeenking licence ;-)) Bows are very quiet ;-))

I appreciate the invite! I lost the muscle mass in my left shoulder a number of years ago and have difficulty shooting a bow anymore. You may have to shoot one for each of us. Now, if we can just find an axe or two to try out.
