Small Inclusion / crack like line after normalising?

Hi there. So I have been working on a small Damascus Bowie knife, I did some quick normalising, (about 5 quick cycles) on the knife yesterday, and was going to do three really solid ones before going into the quench. This morning I have discovered a small crack like line. However the when inspecting and going over with the end of a needle file, one side is higher than the other almost as if it was a fold. Not sure weather it is just some forge scale or something, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me, as I don’t want to quench if that is going to cause it to get bigger, or something really bad might happen.
Hope you can help,
Best,
Sam

It does look like some kind of fault that goes right to the edge.

You might try posting in the General Knife Makers subforum, under shop talk. The people there are actual knife makers.

Looks like a bad weld. May or may not grind out Source of your dammy?

Hard to say in the picture, but it looks like it might be a small de-lam or inclusion.

If you don't HT it, what are you going to do with it? Right now, It's just a fancy piece of metal.
You could go forward as is and it might not be anything to worry about. Or you could grind that part out and reprofile the blade. Your choice/guess on what's best.

What do you mean by this? It's my understanding that the process involves bringing the piece up to temp and then cooling to black in still air. How does one speed this process up? I'm not criticizing, merely trying to point out some potentially un-necessary steps in your process.
