I'm asking this because I often enjoy the chase as much as the purchase - I need a fix. I like small pocket/necker fixed blades. I don't want to spend much this week, so what do you all like in this catagory for around $30-$40? I have the usual suspects already - Izulas, BK14/11, etc. Thanks!

Böker Plus Gnome would also be my recommendation when it comes up to small fixed blades.

condor (el salvador) makes a whole line of carbon steel small fixed blades with kydex sheaths around $20 i think.

Benchmark Backpacker, the one with micarta scales. Usually runs below 20$ and the sheath can be used as a necker or boot affair

I vote for Kershaw Skyline fixed blade. 30 bucks I believe. Black or orange G10 scales. Leather sheath. 3.25" blade. Seems like a fit for your request.

Yep, I got the Skyline fixed a couple months ago. Great deal.

These are some great suggestions for me to check out. Thanks for the ideas. :D

If you don't have one already I'd strongly recommend the Svord hiker!

Its the brain child of a member at a certain forum, cKc, who started making small fixed blades from Svord peasant knives :D

I know you said small and inexpensive.

but have you considered a busse??

heh, sorry. I have nothing else to add to the recommendations here, unless you want my extra 9cr18mov Spyderco mule with no scales :p

I really like my Kershaw 1081 Mini Skinner. Has black or orange g10 on the handle. I picked it up on sale at a local store for $25 but even not on sale I think they run in the $35 range. I hate the leather sheath it comes with though and need to get one made out of kydex. The Kershaw 1082 Field Knife is also very nice but might be a little bigger than your looking for with a 3.25 inch blade. Right around the same price as the Mini Skinner.
