Small Insingo discontinued, or just hard to find?

Hi there,

I just received a large Insingo (my first CRK by the way) and I loved it so much I thought I would pick up a small Insingo. Much to my surprise I couldn't seem to find it in stock anywhere. Is it discontinued or just hard to find?

And since I would be remiss not including a pic, here I am doing what I do most frequently with my knives- cutting food.

It's really hard to find!!!
I picked one up a couple month ago and got really lucky, it's the last one I've seen for sale from dealers (main ones)
And I check everyday...:)

Your best bet right now is here on the forum
Good luck!
I will let you know if I come across another one

Just hard to find because they are so popular. I see them pop up often, but haven't pulled the trigger yet on one as I am always on the lookout for other CRK.

I must have been lucky because I picked mine up about 4 months ago with no problem. I'm thinking that CRK will do more but they seem to come in waves just like the micarta builds.

I am sure they are just hard to find and not truly discontinued. I don't see any reason why they would discontinue it.

I love my Small Insingo so much though that I bought an extra one a while back to store away just in case.

I second that, its exactly what I have observed over time.
They are made in batches just like the micarta ones and Damascus.

I found one on the for sale section and I snatched it up. It really is a great small EDC, the insingo shape is perfect for boxes and letters.

If they are so hard to find, why do I have three? Yea, that was mean. Okay, Shakyamuni, if you email me, I will let you talk me into parting with one. If your username is particularly meaningful to you, when you see my profile you will grok.

You can order one direct. I did the other day. 4 month wait though... however they won't charge your card until the knife is ready to ship. Sounds like they're really busting their butts to fill backorders.

They do seem very busy. I have had a small Insingo with Micarta on order for a couple of months. Fortunately I have plenty of other knives to keep me amused while I wait. ;)

Haha, yes it is meaningful to me, which is why it is ironic that I find satisfaction in material possessions. Call me a Bad Buddhist.

I did manage to find one in stock on eBay, unfortunately I did pay full price but it is better than checking the forums every day and trying to catch one for sale. The silly thing is that there were like 3 of them I passed up on while waiting for my large Insingo, and when I got the large and decided I also wanted the small, there were no more to be found.

Anyway, it is coming today and I will definitely post pics!

Ok, it has arrived and yes it is small! But I think I like it... here is a comparison to my Chokwe:

It is not small.

It is just right.

I think I will find the same... I had written off 3" folders because every Spyderco 3" has almost 0.5" of choil which makes the blade too short. The small sebenza insingo, however, really optimizes that space and offers a great amount of blade for a small amount of handle.

In case anyone is interested, the small Insingos are no longer so hard to find. A vendor just got a shipment in, I snagged one this morning. :) I love my large Insingo, but carry my small 21 most of the time because it looks less threatening (no minor concern when you live in the city). The small Insingo should be the best of both worlds!

That makes sense as a number of us got the call yesterday that ours were ready to be shipped out.
