small khukri problem

About two weeks ago i ordered a 20 inch ang khola which i received yesterday.
With the AK, himalayan imports also sent me a small khuk (kagas katne) as a present. The small khukri looks really cool measuring only 6 inches but unfortunately the blade is pretty wobbly in the handle, and it fells like it could come of if i use it.
Do any of you know how i could fix this problem because it looks like a very useful knife and i would be really disappointed if it ends up as a display piece only. As for the Ang khola, this khuk fells so solid that i could probably tear down my house with it :):):)

I would use epoxy if it was loose.

How sturdy do you expect a letter opener or apple peeler to be?

Yes, if the blade will come out of the handle, epoxy will do well. If it is still mostly attached, see if you can squirt some thin superglue (any brand will do) down into the handle. Use the thin, not the gel type.

What the others have said:D:thumbup:

Also, I have had good luck boiling the handle in water so that the natural epoxy melts and resets.

That said, as Steve suggested, use a thin super glue if you have any opening in the handle/blade junction. The super glue tends to sort of melt the natural epoxy so that both the natural epoxy and the super glue set up harder than rock.

Welcome to the forums:)

I'm a fan of J&B Spot Weld (two-part epoxy). A mechanic I knew said they fixed a cracked engine block with it, and it worked (at least for a while).

No khuk I ever fixed with it came loose.
