Ok the best kitchen knife I have is a cold steel k4.
They discontinued it and no one sells it.
I wanted several of them to give as presents and one for myself.
So whats a comprable knife that is about the same size and with a hard steel (I've sharpened the k4 once in the year i've had it).

Thank you

So you used a neck knife as a kitchen knife? Interesting.

I don't think you can beat the value of the k4. I've tried a Tojiro Flash Paring knife(4 inches I think) in VG-10 at Rc 62, but I found it to be a bit chippy(might've used it on a ceramic plate to cut some steak though). And it wasn't exactly cheap at around $80.

However, if price is no issue, you could have a look at the Miyabi 7000MC Shotoh small utility knife at 5 inches and $140 price range:D.

Shun Elite 3.5" paring knife in SG-2. For a little bit less, the Shun Classic paring knives in VG-10 (3.5" and 4") are also excellent.

And if price is no object, there's always Murray Carter. :D
