Hello Im looking for a very small (1'' blade max) knife that I can put on my key chain. I can buy a cheap one for $5 but I prefer something that would last. Any suggestions? Summer is here and I like to travel lite. You never know when your going to need something to slice something open and I always have the keys. I wear a lanyard so thats why I want it small. Thanks in advance. As far as steel goes? Decent. G10 and better is fine although and stainless. Thanks again in advance for any suggestions.

I understand you already ordered a knife, but a SAK classic SD is never wrong on your keychain.

There's a number of various keychain size tools that hold a #11 hobby knife blade. Obviously it'll be limited to lighter duty given how thin and somewhat flexible the blade is, and the needle point tip, but they're also insanely sharp and of course replaceable. Good for zipping open a package or performing an emergency tracheotomy...ya know, regular daily stuff.

You guys want me to spend money now! Lol. I think when I get a minute I'm going to have to get one of them too! Lol.

SAK Classic SD or Signature (The Signature has a retractable pen (blue ink) instead of the toothpick in the scale, and has the same blades and scissors as the SD Classic.) or an Opinel Number 2 with a 2cm blade.

Note that the Opinel's size 5 and under do not have a ring lock.

Note that when using a knife the normal cutting action forces the blade open; not closed.
Friction folders are still as safe to use today, as when first invented back in the 8th or 9th century.
(or was it earlier? I know the Romans had friction folders ...)

1" blade is very, very small (shorter than a standard #11 Xacto blade). Only thing I know of that's that short but has an actual steel designation (rather than "stainless steel") is the Gerber Key Note.

Even the SAK Classic (which is what I'd normally recommend for a keychain knife) is 1.37 inches. Somebody mentioned the Ladybug, but it's just under 2" blade.

Small and sharp. I like this little guy because if you get caught in a situation where you may need to give up your knife for security reasons, the blade is cheap and easily replaceable. It comes with 7 blades one of which is a bottle opener. Also you can open and close (with some practice) with one hand. Very well made in the US.
Korcraft.
