So I need a smaller knife for work, I work at a hospital and I swear my para 2 is going to scare someone to death! I like the dragonfly, any other suggestions, I know spyderco makes a bunch of small knives with some funky designs. other brands would be cool as well. Thanks and remember its got to look friendly!

spyderco ladybug, spyderco delica which is bigger but comes in sheeple friendly colors. SOG makes a ton of smaller sized blades, last but not least Hinderer XM 18 3" with yellow scale.

A knife that won't scare anyone? A pink knife.

A slip joint knife doesn't scare people... usually.

Unless you're going to cut food, the little Victorinox classic will meet all your needs. Open boxes all day, cut threads, tape, bandages with the scissors, grab small items with tweezers, file your nails, etc. No one will feel threatened by it, and it can unobtrusively live with your keys. It's not a manly knife, but if we're strictly talking about tasks, the classic will get them done.

A Doug Ritter MiniGrip with the orange scales is a small knife (2.88" blade), but still gives you great steel and workhorse ability. Or throw some custom scales on it for a truly awesome knife. My work EDC:

Spyderco G-10 Dragonfly. Tough, lightweight little knife with the ability to handle any light-medium duty cutting tasks. Very sheeple friendly knife for the office - price is around $70 bucks

I second a dragonfly 2 also. I have the standard one with black frn handles and no one seems to even notice I'm holding a knife when I take it out but it fits the hand like a much larger knife, the ergos are ingenious. Good steel too (VG-10).

Thirds on the dragonfly. There are plenty of variations to meet your needs also. I have the zdp version and absolutely love it.

+1 For the G-10 Dragon Fly. I carry mine a lot for work. I have three Dragon Flys, the G-10 by far the best.

I work in a hospital too. I've been carrying the same Spyderco ladybug since '96 on my keys. Too small to scare anyone.

As others have said go with the G10 Dragonfly! Yes, the Ladybug is too small to scare anyone, but it is also just too small in my hands.

If deep pocket carry is an option for you then I would suggest either a Swiss Army knife or a small to medium sized traditional slip-joint. It doesn't get much friendlier looking than these. The sak is tough to beat for it's utility value and bang for the buck. With a traditional pocket knife there are many options to choose from and most of us can find one that speaks to us. Plus they both tend to be very efficient slicers. My 2 cents.
