small kukri style needs identification

Any idea who made this or where this knife comes from it was given to me.

That knife is called a "Turtle Head" and was made by a man named Van Riter.

There are several varieties of Turtle Heads. If the blade is around 4.5" long it's a Turtle Head #2, if it's close to 6" it's a Turtle Head #3.

Blade- O2 tool steel, handles- walnut wood, bolsters- aluminum.
