Small liner/frame lock?

I am looking for a small moderately priced liner/frame lock for EDC. Specifically: blade, 2 ¼”-2 ¾” long; handle, 3 ½”-4” long; thickness, under 3/8”; cost, under $75.00. I have the Kershaw Double Cross, it is nearly ideal, but to thick to carry in my pocket all day in dress clothes. I like the Buck Waimea, but to costly. I work in an office with some real sheeple, I generally carry a Spyderco Navigator and that bothers them. Any thoughts would be most helpful and I will answer questions as quick as I can.

If a Spydie Navigator bothers your co-workers, with it's 2.25" blade, how are the others going to be alright with them?

Something from the boker CLB line, like the trance or subcom.

Agreed with others above, if folks are nervous about a navigator your only hope is likely a sak, or gents folder. Why not try traditional slip joint/gents folder in your pocket and something a bit larger with a lock in your brief case/bag?

I believe the Navigator makes them nervous not because of its blade length, but its wide blade and aggresive appearance. I know, I know, to you and me that have been around knives for more years than I care to think about, it is not aggresive, but for many that only see butter knives in the kitchen or knives being used as weapons in the movies, they are "scary".

I also would prefer to just carry what I please and educate them that knives are tools, but I also don't need any negative attention at work, especially in our current economic climate.

Ideally a SAK would work, or something more traditional, like my Double Cross. I was just looking to see if there were some other models I couldn't think of that also have easy one hand opening/closing and still were slim in profile. Thanks for your replies.

I work in an office too , luckily I don't have anyone to answer to about the kind of knife I carry , but because I do wear dress clothes I carry either a Kershaw Leek, or Scallion ( plain SS handle).

Sometimes I carry a small slippie ..... and I have a Double Cross too, but if you want a small inconspicuous one hander, the Scallion is perfect. They come in a few non-threatening colors too ( even pink :) ). If you want to go smaller then I'd say try a Chive. I just bought one for my buddy and it's also very slim and compact.

Just received a Spyderco Rookie.
This knife has become and is my favorite edc. :) For me, its perfect,
its light weight and lays flat in the pocket I always remove the clips on my knives.

I like the Scallion and may try that. One question, has anyone tried to remove the assisted open function, if so, does it still work well?

I would suggest saving up another $100 bucks and buying the Waimea. The Waimea is the best small folder I've ever owned - light, cuts like a razor and the S30V blade has the great Paul Bos heat treat. (Since purchasing the Waimea I've actually carried it more than I have my small classic Sebenza)
