...Is on back order. Let the waiting begin.
This will give me both handle styles and all three blade styles. Gotta love the Sebenza.

I've never been a fan of the chisel ground American tanto blade. The more I look at the CRK tanto, the more I like it. A properly ground straight edge paired with a very stout point should make this a much more usable and versatile blade than the chisel grind.

Where do you have it on order? I didn't think they were being made anymore...

BTW, I know a place that should have one right now. Email me for info.

I have it on order from Nordic Knives. I know I could get one right now, but this way gives me a little more time to set back a few more bucks to pay for it:) .

The large and small NICAs were fairly abundant a year or two ago, but there haven't been many sightings on the forums lately.

Blade shape was exquisite. One of the most functional tanto tips out there.

Did they ever make a small sebenza in S30V blade in the NICA 400 tanto ?I am looking for one! dannyv

The NICA tanto is limited to 400 pieces I think 400 large and 400 small. They make them in runs depending on demand. I have a small left hand one. It's mostly a safe queen.

I was just told by CRK that they still have not filled the quota to make 400 of the NICA small tantos and that the next remaining to be made will be in S30V blade. ;)

I must be the third or fourth owner of mine. It came stiff and gunked up with some scratches on the blade. I cleaned it out easily enough and it's smooth now, but really needs to go back for refurb! I tied a red paracord lanyard on it to brighten it up for now. :)

The Crawfords also put a slight curve on their tanto blades. It will do good work in the kitchen. For those who have never held the CRK tanto, the back of the blade retains its full thickness until about a 1/4" of the tip, making it almost unbreakable.

Shoot, now I want one (again).

I have a hard time saving up money...

I have one of each. Large tanto in S30V, small tanto in BG42. Very nice knives. I actually ordered an extra plain handle slab from CRK and put it on the large. You will not be disappointed with you new knife.

7 and counting.

Hey nitrox,
Do you happen to know if CRK is planning on producing any more NICAs?
My dealer told me that the batch of 400 on both the large and small had been filled. I wonder if he's wrong......

Hi Barry,
I do not know. I bought both of mine NIB from Nordic knives. I love the blade profile and can't believe it is not a regular option. Oh well, guess that's what makes them collectable. I do carry them and use them all, including my wood inlay. Keep your eyes open on e-bay etc. and I'm sure one will pop up eventually. It won't be from me though!!:D

Hi, Barry ! from what I've heard, the large has been filled but only about half of the small. They will be now be made with the S30V blade( I think that's great). I think NICA store are still trying to get rid of their older stock of small before getting new ones(minimum, about $1000.00 worth).I could be wrong so, don't quote me on this. dannyv:rolleyes:

Keep an eye on eBay. One sold yesterday for $270. The item number was 2173036396

If I see another one, I'll drop you a note.

Mike
