I SENT MY SMALL REGULAR NUMBERED SEBENZA TO CRK TO HAVE THEM RE-ISSUE THE B/DAY CARD. I RECEIVED IT WITH THIS INFORMATION ON IT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT ALL REGULARS HAD ATS-34 STEEL. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THAT IT HAS A BG-42 BLADE?

Regulars had BG-42 blade steel in the beginning and then switched to S30V.

Since both the regular and BG-42 was introduced in 96, it's possible some regulars were made in S30V, but I have never seen any. To my knowledge, all regulars were in BG-42 & S30V..... As well as Damascus of course...!!!

Check out my CRK Timeline Sticky, lots of useful info there....!

Yes, thats why they wrote it on the card :p

Thats a great knife you have there
I've got a small Regular with BG-42 and its one of my favorite knives for sure.

The plan was to switch to BG-42 with the new (regular) design, but there was some overlap in the first 200 (the numbered knives). My small reg #70 is ATS-34, it looks like they had changed over before they got to yours.

I had small numbered (#31) it was ATS-34. Had a polished blade. Some where between #31 and #163 they must have changed. Mind did have the orignal BD card and other paper work. I have a small Reg. in BG-42 serrated blade that I love carry it most. Great knife you have. I would have kept #31 if it was BG-42.

This is the earliest documented BG42 Regular I have seen. Regular #151 LH from Feb, 1997.
