Small or Large Sebenza?

What's up guys I've decided that in about 2 weeks (when I don't have school and can get the knife from mail with no one in my family seeing it) I am going to get a Sebenza. I really don't know which one though. I already have a CRKT Ripple, Paramilitary 2, and a Zt 0770cf. Although not big knives would you recommend a small sebenza? Also the PM2 is about the biggest knife overall I would ever consider carrying so how does the large sebenza compare? My hands are really skinny and probably a size medium to large glove size. I might bring the knife to NYC since I am a freshman in college and commute there everyday, but may not since I will be scared to lose it. But I will for sure carry it out on Long Island where I live and cops aren't as bad as in the city. I wish I could buy both but can't spend over $800 without anyone noticing lol hopefully $350 goes unseen.

I own a small and there is plenty of blade for every day use. I don't think you will disappointed if you go with the small.

I own both and they're both great. I wear a medium to large men's glove, and both fit my hands relatively well. The small allows me to get a 4 finger grip, but just barely. The large fills my whole hand, but because of its blocky shape I honestly prefer the way the small feels in hand. That said, I carry the large more often than the small, just because I prefer larger blades even though I don't really need them.

As far as size comparisons, the PM2 handle is the same length (edit: as the large) but has a noticeably shorter blade. Despite the fact that they are almost the same overall length, the Sebenza "feels" significantly bigger to me. The small is comparable in size to the ripple - just a bit shorter but with a bit blockier handle.

It all comes down to personal preference. If you like 3.5-3.75" class knives, large. If you like 3" class knives, small. You won't be disappointed with either so it's really up to you.

I love the PM2 and currently have a large insingo. They are very similar in size and I am fond of it. I just purchased a small insingo to compare and see how I like it.

I have large hands. The large seb fits my hand better than the small. I have several larges and a couple of smalls. I use 1 of larges more often because the large fits much better.

I think you'd get more and maybe better answers to your questions if you posted it in the CRK forum from guys who have both sizes and may be able give better advice than you may get

here in general.

Umm get both and see what you like. Sell the one you don't like on the exchange. You'll most likely break even.

How old are you?

I have a large micarta, I love it! I got to hold both the large/small and inlayed/non inlayed. Needless to say, I am very happy with my choice! Buy the large, if it is too big, sell it and buy a small.

That's where I stopped reading too.... wittle boy twying to buy high dollar knifey without parents knowy?

Pssshhh. Count me out. Ask permission first. And how does a kid get access to that amount of dough?

I have a large micarta, and a small classic. Love them both. Pretty average sized hands. Both fit very well.
You won't NEED more than the small, but if you just prefer a larger blade and grip, go with the large.
Hard to go wrong man.
I have on being delivered tomorrow actually lol.
It's a large without inlays.

The grip on the closed "small" is less than four inches. Grab one of your folders and measure it and see if you are comfortable holding onto that "short" length.
I cannot use a "small" easily, so of course, I carry a large Sebenza which is about 4.6"-4.7" long (closed length).
TRY BEFORE YOU BUY...

I'm 18 at the legal age to purchase knives but I think my parents would get pretty mad if they see a $350 knife on our doorstep.

I have both and prefer the large. I like the small in dressier situations though. It is more inconspicuous. The large is about the perfect all round blade.

Well if you are spending your own money I would get the large. If you are spending your parents money I would buy a cryo after asking if I could borrow 30 bucks lol. I would be hard pressed to buy a $400 miniature version of the real thing, but that's only my opinion. I own one Sebenza and don't see myself buying another any time soon. One because of the cost and two it will outlast me Im sure so theres no need for another one. Now if I was raking in the doe, I would have the whole CRK line up. But if you are only going to get one, I would get the large. Its comparable in size to a PM2, just more cutting edge.

I must be one of the few people in this universe that was and still are totally underwhelmed with my Seb. 21 .
I have a small Micarta 21 and no mater how hard I try it doesn't grab me like I wish it would .
It sits in my cupboard , and I drag it out with renewed enthusiasm every month or so , but it never lasts more than a couple of days in my pocket before it's returned to the darkness .
A small is a Small knife , I'd recommend handling both before committing hard earned cash on a purchase .
Good luck

Ken

Small hands? Get the small. Average to large hands, get the large.

If it's mommy and daddy's money, get a Buck 110.

Even if you're 18, and aaaall grown up, if you live with your parents, everything should be above board. I'm a parent myself, and I'd sh!t myself if I knew my son spent that much scratch on a knife.

He's got plenty of other stuff to worry about, and I'd wager you do too....

I'm not sure why you have to hide the knife from your family.

Assuming both knifes are legal... I say get the large.
