Small Pikal fixed blades

I've been exposed to the tenets of the Pikal technique through a coworker who recently attended an extreme close-quarters class. Everything he learned made a lot of sense to me, and now I find myself in the market for a fixed blade that has a handle that is friendly to the icepick/edge-in hold required. The reverse sweep of the blade of a true Pikal knife is not critical to me, but if there are some good dedicated Pikal knives that are small enough I'd like to see them. 7" OAL is about the maximum I'd want to go. Must have lanyard hole.

I'm a sucker for quality, and would pay up to $250 for a top-notch offering. This will be for daily carry as an LEO, probably riding in a pocket sheath clipped into a cargo pants pocket. What's out there that will fill these criteria?

I don't quite get the big deal about those knives. What can they do that a nice dagger can't?

Daggers are illegal in many state/cities but the main reason for the design difference (curved inward blade) is for hooking and ripping the arms. The curved blade will produce more severe wounds when hooking/ripping. A bit nasty but Pikal is an offensive/aggressive style. However, I feel that a serrated Delica can be just as nasty but the draw time is of course a lot longer.

PS. Go with the Shivworks Disciple. It was designed by the main exponent (South Narc) of Pikal in the US. It is the "knife to have" if you wish to use Pikal at it highest levels. And yes, I have one. I also highly recomend his DVD's. They are a "must have" is one wishes to learn Pakal.

Here is another dedicated Pikal custom but I'm not big on finger holes.

I became interested in Pikal after seeing Southnarc's videos and I didn't want to fully commit to a specialized knife like the shivworks ones until I played with it a bit. So I spent a lot less and got a Cold Steel Kobun and a Braveheart. Both are able to be used reverse edge but both can also be used normally in case I didn't like the style after playing with it. The Kobun is a bit outside your size parameters but the Braveheart fits. You may want to give it a try.
