So I have come to a temporary hold on my folder buying.. until my m4 ritter pre-order becomes an actual order... I can't think of another I HAVE to have.. (ok so I want a ton, but all I really want is over $300.. which is too much for now) so I would like to get a quality fixed blade for edc... I can't belt carry, nor do I want to neck carry.. but a small fixed blade that can fit in a pocket, or with a pocket clip sheath would be awesome. So far all I really know about is an izula, which I think is a little to large.... would love some recommendations for me to research... figuring an overall length of 6.5" or less makes sense.

Thanks!

If you have the opportunity to hold an Izula in your hand, I would try it before you write it off as too big. I got to handle the Izula for the first time about two weeks ago and I was really surprised at how small it actually is.

Do you like this?

Some specs: CPM3V (RHC 59), convex ground, hex hole to hold bits, oal 4.5".

I think the izula's 6in OAL is a little too long to be a comfortable pocket blade... but I will consider it..

default: the one you posted looks pretty good, albeit the blade looks very small in the pics? any more info on that one?

Look at the smaller Bark Rivers. They have many in the pocketable size (5-6" overall).

My current pocket fixed blade is a Landi PSK.

Yes, the blade is small, but that's the point :D Overall lenght of 4.5", you gotta give somewhere :D

Send me an email or private message (you don't have your email enabled so I can't reach you).

the rat izula
bark river mikro canadian
bark river mikro.

i have the izula and when i put it in my pocket i hardly notice it.

Ok.. I have adjusted my original size estimate to allow for the inclusion of the izula and bark river bravo necker.. also considering the fehrman short stop, defaults knife, and the mid-tech neck bowie... you guys rock...

Izula or BK11

Both of these dissapear into my pocket. i carry a full sized rat-3 or an rc-4 in my pocket. my edc is a rat hest. the izula is a very tiny knife, probably the smallest id ever consider carrying i urge you to give it a good hard look.

before getting my izula i toyed around with the idea of the bravo necker. the things that turned me away were the higher price and that the izula has an amazing warranty behind it IMO.

Small fixed blades are my main focus. Take a look at my pocket scalpel. Here is a link

Those must be some large pockets.:D

For the OP. You should check out the great custom makers we have here on BF. Most of them offer excellent pocket sized fixed blades.

I carry this one made by JK Handmade knives ,Stomper on the forum, daily.
Made from 1/8" thick O1, 6 1/2" OAL with a 3" scale to tip blade (2 3/4" cutting edge) .Convex edge at a very reasonable price.

If you don't find just what you want from production, give our makers a try. You will be surprised just how much a few $$ will get you.
