Aubeer,
I would wholeheartedly agree with the advice above.
You already have a GREAT KNIFE (Sypderco), with a good steel. You could get a 'decent knife' for $30. Or if your lucky another Spyderco probably slightly used for $30.
BUT-if you can't sharpen what you have now, you will stay in the perpetual mode of dull\buy, dull\buy, dull\buy...ad nauseaum!
STOP THE INSANITY NOW MY FRIEND!!! LEARN TO SHARPEN...
This is what you do:
Go to a reputable dealer linked from the Makers\Mfgs forum (I happen to like the treatment I am getting from
www.newgraham.com). Do a search for Sypderco Sharpmaker #204. This is a great method as mentioned above. And as also mentioned it comes with a video that teaches you how to sharpen a knife properly.
BUY THIS SHARPENING SYSTEM-GO AHEAD DO IT NOW!!! PICK UP THAT PHONE!
Ok, it will run you more than $30 with shipping. But I have seen this kit sell for as low as $39.95+S&H online (just ordered it myself in fact).
INSERT OLD ADAGE HERE:
Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you have fed him for a lifetime!
Aubeer, the satisfaction and confidence you will gain from this experience is worth far more than the money you will spend on a good sharpening system like the Syperco Sharpmaker!
Good luck, and good edge my friend.
