I don't know why but it really torches my nuggets when a mail-order company drags it feet getting me an order. Knifemakers especially need fast service, and there is no excuse for not sending an order out in a timely fashion. If I order something Monday, I want to see it in the mail no later than Wednesday. If they can't fulfill an order, I want to know about it.

I am griping right now, but dang it... this is the second time I ordered from these folks recently, and the second time my order is stalled. There is just no reason not to have my order shipped by now. My livelihood, and my reputation is dependant on the good customer service I give my clients. I expect no less from those that get my hard-earned money. If a company does not have an item, I should be told right away. I should never have to call several times to find out where my bloody order is, or wait for their inventory to come in. Gargh! Its bad enough their prices are through the roof, but this just plain sucks.

You will notice I revealed no names on this. I consider it bad form to broadcast a complaint about some company here on the forums. I would not want them to do it to me, so I am careful not to smear anyone publicly. However, if anyone is curious I will tell you privately through emails if you care to know.

Thanks for listening. I feel better now! :D

Come on Mc Master????

I have made hundreds of orders from McMaster over the last 15 years. I have NEVER gotten the wrong item, and always got my order intact and promptly. Hands down they are the best supply house I have ever dealt with.

So that answer is no. Its a knifemaker's supply company we all deal with.

yes - I think I know who you are talking about...there are a couple, actually...:(

And yes, it drives me absolutely crazy too...

They finally replied to my email inquiry, stating it would go out today. She said it was because of the holiday on Monday.

Jeff try ordering and paying for 2nd day air UPS, just to have the order not get to USP for 3 days..that makes it 5 days plus the week ends to me..I've had this happen.. I thought it was just me getting older but, you just can't get the service most anywhere now that we use to..

I was in Mickey D's the other day and ordered burgers with lettuce on it,
I took a bite out of one and realized it didn't have the lettuce on it..
( the wife's and mine)
We already waited way too long to get the order in the first place, The fries and Pies were cold,
I took the burgers back through the drive through

and they asked me for the burgers back, I waited and waited,, they gave me my burgers in a bag and I drove off and parked again,

I opened up the bag and found they took the burgers that we had and mind you we took bites out of ,,,,,
they put lettuce on them (the ones we had) and they gave them back to me   I don't know about other people but
I have a problem with a cook that handles food that someone was chewing on and then handle food for others at the same time .

..I went back and ripped them out and asked for the manager, they said I couldn't talk to the manager because they have an issue going on right now,
I'll bet they did,, they asked me if I wanted my money back or replace the food ??
I told them I want hot food and the food that I paid for the way it was ordered..you should have seen the stuff they stuck in the bag to smooth things over,
the moral of this story is..
what can one expect from a place with all the high pay they get and with a people turn over faster than I change my underwear  :D
dang KIDS don't know nothing now adays :D

If I may join in on your rant Jeff. I ordered two items from Rob Frink at Beumont Machine, in Columbus. He sent them out promptly as promised.
They showed up at my place 9 days later and that was after 4 phone conversations with the shipper. When the driver showed up with the package
I asked him why he had so much trouble finding me. He said he had been on vacation for two weeks and his replacement didn't know the territory. Tell me something I didn't know. I live 11/2 hours from Robs place. Fred

I dunno, 3 years isn't bad in fast food :p :D

Theres nothing worse than paying double shipping to get it here in 3 days, only to have them sit on the order for two more. When that happens, I do and will complain. 2 day air means they ship it the next day. Otherwise, what's the point? We shouldnt have to factor their slowness into our shipping options. Thats like a company seeing that I live 5 minutes away, taking my extra shipping, and doing a local delivery 3 days later. I agree, it gets me fired up. That and a company only notifying me an item was backordered on my shipping slip. If i ordered 2 day air, it might have meant i needed it. if i have to then wait 5 days for 2 day air AND only find out then they didnt have an item, I am ready to scream.

As far as mcdonalds goes, i have it down to a science. Say you cant have salt and order fries with no salt and burgers with no ketchup. You will get a FRESH otrder of fries and a FRESH burger. If you want to be a real jerk, stand there and put your salt and ketchup on while they watch.
