Hello everyone,
I got back my Medford Marauder.
Since there are not many reviews on the Web related to these knives, I decided to take up the challenge and do a little something for myself :o.
A few things first:
1. I did not really test the knives before, so I did something modest.
2. I love Medford blades, so my opinion may be biased.
3. I changed the profile of the blade (D2) to zero (full) hollow.

So here for your use:
I started with USB cable cut, including the socket - all easily cut, as the cut garlic. The connection was more challenging.

Then I played a bit with a piece of wood, this knife can do batoning but there's no real reason to do it with it; But she can :) .

The bottom line
The knife is working great, Superb cutter - cuts easily; And for aggressive cutting action this knife is excellent;
As stabbing - a little hard to penetrate the wood due to the blade tip thickness; and if I'll use too much force my hand could slip on the blade. As for stabbing softer materials, I thing it will be fine.
At the end the blade Kept sharp, but not Razor sharp

This is a folder for small and big jobs, don't let the size and thickness to deter you, it functions great; not a safe queen in my case.
Enjoy.

Thank you.

I really like the look of the Marauder, but a 4.25" blade is way to big for me. I'm hoping they'll do a Mini one in the 3.5"-3.75" range someday.

Nice looking knife, just googled it, the asking prices gave me a mini stroke.

I had a Marauder for a few days before selling it. Big, heavy, thick prybar, but it was oh so cool to look at and hold.
Glad you are using yours!

Given the size of the Marauder and it's potential uses, do you think the Praetorian (full size, obviously) could hold up to the same abuse even given the smaller blade? Also, it would seem that the Praet would protect your hand a bit in a stabbing motion. Thoughts?

The Praet no doubt would offer better hand protection, but the blade would be no more inclined to penetrate in a stabbing motion (even less inclined if a full Ti 1/4" thick one like the Marauder).

I suppose that's why reference is made to the Marauder having a "katana" blade - more of a slasher where less protection is warranted for hard-use stabbing, whereas the Praet seems built to handle anything as more of an all-around beast. Thanks for the perspective, OM.

Very Nice knife. I like what you have done with the blade.

I miss my Praetorian already.

I imagine it could be a tad difficult to stab something with the tanto bladed Praetorians, but mine wouldn't have much of an issue:

I had a praetorian g tanto for a short few days. Mr. Medford truly makes some of the most solid knives around. It was just too much for me to carry, so I traded it off. That being said, if I had a micro drop point I'd probably still have it.
