Need some small round tins for trail storage below my canteens. I have the Maxpedition 12X5 bottle holders and I'm eventually getting the Kleen Kanteen 64 ounce bottle for them when they get them back in stock. So I'll have about 2 to 3 inches of room left in the pouch. Figured I'd toss a small tin in the bottom. So what I'm looking for needs to be about 5" in diameter or under. And from 2 to 3 inches in height. Any suggestions where a gent might find something like that?

In the kitchenware section of dept. stores ( Wallymart?) there are small aluminum or stainless spice containers in the sizes you seek. Not totally Waterproof, but useful for small items.

Hope this helps.

At the end of this thread is a pic of some tins I found at the local Odd/Big Lots stores.

They held a cheese spread product, and fit perfectly in the lid.

I've got mine chocked full with a Sparkie firestarter, a dozen or so Tinder Quiks, roll of duct tape, container full of cedar pieces, a wad of cotton, and a small tube of petroleum jelly.

YMMV

Gave some away about 6 or 8 months ago to someone on the forum.

I will measure them up when I head back and post the size tonight.

If you want them, I can ship them to you gratis.

Carl-

OK, they are 2 1/2" Dia and Abt 3/4" tall

If you want some, just let me know. I have about a dozen.

How about adding specialtybottle site to "favorites"???

Thread is about "round" tins. Not altoid square ones.
