I told myself before I finished any new knives I'd make a shadow box first. Now I just need to figure it out but my pictures do look better to me but that isn't saying much. This is the first knife I got together in the new shop. The blade is 7" hand forged from a piece of lumbermill saw steel. Anchor chain wrought iron half guard, mule deer crown, and a wagon wheel wrougt iron butt cap with ring and nut. 12 1/2" overall and it weights exactly 1lb. The props are from my jackalope hunting trip.

Coop, Thanks for the idea on the light box!

Nice knife, Ray. I especially like the texture on this one. Couple of hot and dead spots in the foto but those boys at KNET will tell you how to reposition the lights if you post this over there. Shows the knife decent enough, so that part's good.

Them horns is small even for a rabbit. I take it you hit in front of it so's the dirt spray could kill 'em? Wouldn't want to ruin either bite of meat. ;)

Probably not too hard to hit, either, given the difference in size of the horns. I take it the 'lope was hopping around in circles? :D

Beautiful bowie and good clear pics Raymond. Really like the texture on the blade. I like the fact of the recycled parts. They seem to just make anything have more character.........Stuart

Cool Bowie, looks like it's been on a mountain man's belt sheath for about 40 years.

Your pics look pretty good to me too, lots better than mine so far too.

I don't know what you're using for a box, but I find that one of those fogged translucent domes or pop-up scrim boxes work well, particularly when used outdoors. The dome or scrim diffuses the light well enough and you get a more natural-looking color of light outside. (Incandescents tend to cast things yellow, as do halogen. Florescent is usually far too blue-white --cold and sterile-looking. I find natural light is usually really nice--even if overcast---when you're using a 'cloud-dome' or scrim box or scrim tent to even it out.

Nice knife, BTW!
