Hello, I am looking to work on a few small knife projects (probably about 3 or 4 total). Can anyone recommend someone or a company that can do a quality, reliable heat treatment on a few blades without breaking the bank? Thanks in advance!

Peters heat treat or Texas knifemakers for air hardening steels only. I sent mine to peters and always had great results.

Peter's HT also does oil-hardening steels. I spoke with Brad from Peter's HT at the Knifemaker's Guild Show in September, and he is also doing clay-coating oil-hardening steels to produce a hamon, as well as sandblasting and black-oxide coating. See their FAQ page.

I've had great service and quality from them and their prices are very competitive. I'm honestly thinking about selling my kiln because when paying for my own foil, electricity, etc, I can barely compete with their prices in my own shop.
