Have an opportunity to purchase a small Sebenza marked 199 on the handle. I am not a collector and only inquire as to current value and possible trade options. Is described as wear on the handle and blade in great shape. Any assistance/comments would be greatly appreciated.

PS...I am new small, 2 week old, Sebenza owner and can't help myself. Ya'll told me this would happen, but I refused to listen. I will pay the consequences, one Sebenza at a time. Excuse my rambling. Thx.:D

Volunteer,
Given your appreciation of the Sebenza and your ability to read, write and interact on the web, it is very hard to believe you are only two weeks old. :D

Congrats on finding such a knife.

As I understand it, the first 200 Sebenzas done with the new profile were numbered, whether they were large or small, plain or decorated. I think it is nice to have one that is a little bit unique in some way, but don’t think they have any additional collectors value unless you find the right buyer. I would love to find #20, for instance.

While I do appreciate people who take our language at least semi-seriously, I would request that you wait until I've read posts, so that I can be the one to point out "funnies" in previous posts. I really hate being redundant.

:D

Thx stjames...your answer is what I needed to hear. My intention was purely selfish as thought I could possibly pick this knife up for around $200 and perhaps parlay into a new plain large (my next scheduled purchase) if there was a market. Talked to CRK today and they explained that when they converted to the new/current design small Sebenza they had numbered the 1st 200 produced and that Chris had in fact finished the blades on these 200. Anyway, think the knife got purchased out from under me today but the fun is in the hunt.

Now...C Ben and Bugs3x you guys are great. Weren't helpful, but cheered me up. What are cyber friends for??? Thx to all. :D
