So there is no actual anchor point near the tang correct?
I figured with the backspacer and lanyard pin it would be secure. I had just recently seen someone else do a backspacer and since the Sebenza has that double duty pin he had to get creative.Correct, it just rests against the stop pin. In the instructions from TTTis he suggests to push the spacer against the stop pin as you tighten the two frame screws.
It works like a charm, it's not going anywhere and is nicely seated.
Nice, do you notice a difference in weight ?
I’m really enjoying mine. I wish I’d gotten a smooth one too.
With the micarta seb you have there I'd say the grooved one will look better than the plain, nice pictures.![]()
Come on man, I'm supposed to be saving money right now.....
I definitely like the grooved spacer on that Sebenza but I've got a plain small 21 from 2009 (no "Idaho Made" mark) that I'd like to put a smooth one on. I almost bought one of each and knew I'd regret it if I didn't. Well, here we are...
So there is no actual anchor point near the tang correct?
Correct, it rests on the stop pin sleeve. The CRK standoff and lanyard pin hold the piece in place and friction between the scales keeps it locked in place.
Part of the reason these were such a pain in the ass is the thickness had to be CRK perfect. Too thick and tolerances suffer, too thin and the piece isn't held correctly.
This is a large part of my hesitation to do more, just couldn't get any machines to get the thickness perfect to satisfy my OCD.
Each piece was hand sanded to get it right to match the stop pin and standoff thickness, took a long time.
Awesome pictures. I'm really glad you guys like them. I would like to see CRK produce some after market stuff. But from what they said even keeping up with regular demand is tough.
