Did anyone that was fortunate enough to go to blade pick up any information about the possibility of a small 25??

Oh ..... Anne is going to get you for calling it a small 25.
EDIT: I thought you were talking about the Inkosi. I didn't ask about a small 25. They didn't mention it either other than saying the Inkosi is NOT a small 25.

It would seem the Inkosi is an evolution of the thinking behind the 25. I would guess we'll see a Large Inkosi released and the 25 will be discontinued. I don't see how there would be enough of a difference to have both designs made. Calling the 25 a Sebenza has always been a bit of a misnomer to most folk anyways. I am glad the new knife has its own name.

Looking forward to seeing an Inkosi broken down to see the major changes that exclude it from being called a "small 25".

They considered renaming the Sebenza when they designed the "Regular" model, but the name is too iconic. I think we would lose the Umnumzaan long before there is no longer a Sebenza, even if it is just the large model.

I don't think the sebenza name going away, I'm just saying the large Inkosi might replace the 25. What happens to the 21 is anyone's guess, but I would like to see a future Sebenza (pivot bushing, hollow ground, thin blade) come along.

Thanks for the link, I am not sure what rock I have been under to miss that information!!

I guess they consider it along the lines of the Umfann? That was styled just like a small Sebenza (actually smaller than a small Seb) but had the unique name and a 2.3" blade.

Names aside, mines preordered!

This is a good point, because CRK did state on their site a few years ago, that the Umfaan was being "redesigned". Not sure if they meant for the Inkosi to move into that slot, but seems reasonable.

IMO, i think they should have just named the 25 the Inkosi from the beginning, and then introduced all these new changes every year to the model..ie the Umnumzaan has been thru more changes than i can remember since its original design but its still called the Umnumzaan. Is the Inkosi THAT much different from the 25 to be considered NOT a small 25? In the end, im happy with whatever they decide:)

That would have been nice to see! Does it have the same size ceramic detent/ lockup ball as the 25?

Did you notice if the washers have the tab on them, or if the stop pin is pressed in?

I guess I honestly didn't look too closely at the parts break down. I was talking to Anne and didn't want to look disinterested by breaking eye contact a lot. Lame but I was pretty excited holding the Inkosi and talking with her. Tim did mention something about big lube pockets on the washers.
