Hi,

I am trying to decide between the small left handed Sebenza or the Mnandi. This will be my EDC for office use and light home use. Is the Mnandi even offered as left handed, or is the Mnandi
ambidextrous?

Any thoughts??

I've seen left had Mnandi's here on the forum. Matter of fact there was one for sale a couple of days ago on the forum.

I have both. Bought the Small 21 first and love it. I did eventually buy a Mnandi for the office and it does everything the small Insingo did. Much lighter in the pocket too.

You will love either.
Mnandi = delicate feeling (not delicate for real) and classy.
Small 21 = beefier and classy.

You'll have both eventually. :)

Good question - you might ask it on the dedicated forum here and get a bit more of feedback.
The Mnandi is a very nice pretty small knife, which is also offered as a lefty.
It has a thinner blade and is lighter than the small Sebenza.
Since all Mnandis have inlays it is more a gents knife (ymmv) as a sm Seb which you might purchase plain handled.
If you plan to use it around the house, I'd recommend the sm Sebenza, if it's only for indoors use the Mnandi is sufficient.
Please don't get me wrong, you can use both outdoors, it's only that you might prefer a somewhat larger blade there.
hope this helps.

The Lefty Mnandi and small 21 are to the right in this picture:

Both are very nice blades and extremely handy/friendly for office environments.

Now, just to keep it interesting…

Have you considered a Ti-lock? It's pretty ambi and certainly has an interesting design:

It's not a frame/liner lock like the Sebenza/Mnandi but it seems to be pretty secure when engaged--not that I've really tried to beat on it much. :D

If you are getting one of them I'd go small sebenza. I'd say it's a better all around knife. The Mnandi is an excellent dress or office knife, but for me would require a swap out to something a little bigger in other situations.

Here's a pic of my three CRK's that might help with a size comparison...

Good luck, OP! :)

I have both, but use the small sebenza MUCH more often. The Mnandi is plenty capable, but I ending up reaching for a sebenza more often. In the looks department, the Mnandi (IMO) looks more like an office knife with the wood covering both sides, the polished blade, and the sleek clip. The sebenza is available with inlays, but that would be more expensive.
In the end, you can't go wrong with either one. I know this sounds crazy, but if you can swing it get both and sell the one you like less on the exchange. You will take a minimal loss, but you will know you made the correct choice!
