Small Sebenza tanto opinions

I have both a standard Inkosi and micarta small tanto seb on the way. I will def be keeping one of them. But, was curious about people that use the tanto? Seems robust at the tip with a nice overall shape which I don't see very often.

I had an umnumzaan tanto, it was nice, but it turns out tantos just dont do it for me. Traded it off for the nice belly of the standard umnumzaan. I know some people really love tantos though, and Chris Reeve does make a nice one. Keep us updated with pictures for whichever you decide!
 
I dont have one, but the 21 tantos are tantolizing. theyve got a nice shape and grind that appears different enough from a typical American tanto to make it more useful. Ill probably pick up a small 21 tanto eventually.
 
I personally love the tanto on an umnumzaan. It's a serious working knife. I haven't had a chance to play with a tanto 21 but when I think of hard use piercing I think of a tanto. It's going to come down to personal preference. Like CCC said...some people like it some don't.
 
Use to not like them, never thought I'd have a use for the style of blade until I got one. Now, I've got several CRK tanto's. They're really useful, and surprisingly can do most any task.
 
I have not really seen any other high end type folder execute the tanto like that, it just seems like it will work

I never understood the Tanto blade. I mean, what was its original intent design for?

Stabbing?
Self defense?

I used to be a big Emerson fan and had tons of Tantos.. But when it came to household tasks I gave up on them except for self defense carry.

Agreed. I just don't like tantos.

It's great that these sebenza tantos are an exclusive for one store that shall not be named. One more reason not to shop there.

why is that? does TNK have a bad rep? i just bought my small seb tanto from them and received great service and really like the knife.
 
Always wanted to try one of there tanto knives, but have yet to pull the trigger. Sure it will happen sooner or latter.
And for the record I have nothing but good things to say about Neil

I supposedly got banned by Neil from shopping at TNK because he didn't like my review of a flashlight maker. He's insane. How he got my personal information, I have no idea.
 
The 21 tanto is great. Tanto blades don't make a lot of sense, but they provide variety and look very cool, and function well enough, so if you have the bucks they are worth it to stave off EDC boredom. The tip bevel has some uses that it excels at (not many) and is very strong.

I have dealt with TNK many times. They have been a trusted/exclusive CRK dealer for years for good reason. Great seller. Highly recommended.
