Close to pulling the trigger on another small Sebenza. I have a large (dog paws) and small (enigma) 21, a small 2011 annual, and a large Insingo. I really like the Insingo blade shape, but I have never had or used a Tanto. All my CRK's are lefty, and a certain shop has a small lefty Tanto Sebenza in stock. Just wondering about the usefulness of the shape, and any good vs. bad points y'all may have related to the shape of the blade. Thanks in advance!

Oh that is so cool! I too am a lefty and I have a first run small left hand tanto that was made when BG-42 was the blade steel, a large left hand s30v tanto and an umnum tanto too. Isn't to cool to be a lefty and be able to enjoy such nice knives? For EDC puposes I use a large insingo pretty much 24/7 and a mnandi at work. Great knives, great company. The tantos are definately cool in my book.:D:thumbup::cool:

i'd much rather use the insingo or 21 for normal use. tantos are fun to have, but i'd get more use out of the previous said. I do want to pick up an umnum tanto down the line though

The main diff is the belly of the knife but I have a large 21 tanto and i love it. The secondary tip where the two edges meet is great for detailed cutting work like following lines and such. The second pic is next to my Warren Thomas model 2.5 for reference

I'm a big fan of how CRK does their tantos. The main edge still has a little belly and the convex tip makes piercing material a breeze.
Having said that however I think the tanto blade shape lends itself to be more useful in larger blades. If your set on getting a Small 21 I'd
say go with the regular blade shape or insignio. I think for a 3 inch knife those blade shapes are better for EDC tasks. But it would be pretty
cool to have a small lefty tanto 21 since there probably pretty rare.

why do so many people buy multiples of these knives? must be a collector thing.

The CRK tantos are my favorite CRK blade shape after the regular profile and by far my favorite variation of the tanto. The slight curve and belly on the main cutting edge makes it work well for edc tasks. It basically performs like the Insingo would but with superior piercing capabilities.

If I were to rank CRK blade profiles it would be:
1. Regular blade
2. Tanto blade
3. Classic/21 blade
4. Insingo blade
