Hello everyone...Having read alot of threads where peopel are interested in buyign a sebenza but are unsure of which model to get...questions like is the small sebenza too small...Or is the big too big? well I do not have a large, but I do own a small classic with micarta inlays, so...just starting a new youtube account I figured I would make a short video for all of you wondering...Pictures are good, but video is better, I hope this helps some of you to realize exactly how big the small sebenza is in the hand...

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

That was pretty good at showing that the small is not that tiny. I have a large unique graphic and whish that I would have picked up a small. But that being said no regrets! It's a Sebbie.

I also bought a large sebenza because I wasn't sure if the small would be big enough. I wish i'd seen your video first. Oh well, I've got huge hands anyway... Thanks for the video. That sheath is fantastic, could you perhaps post a link to the maker???

Thanks for the video! I think you finally did it, I am gonna have to buy a small :D

sure, here is the makers website...He is located in canada...I am pretty sure hes a member here too! I ahve seen him post, just can't remember which threads...too bad I can't use the search function...

Hmmm, his site seems to not be workign right now...but check back later...

Great video, thanks.

I strongly suspect that someday I'll end up with a small Seb and a Mnandi to go with my large Seb...

I think the best way to state the size of the small Sebenza is that it is essentially the same size as a BM mini-Griptilian, both blade and handle. That's something a lot of folks have handled so it's an easy comparison.

The handle is a different shape, but you get the same number of fingers on the handle with the classic Sebenza as you do with the mini Grip. You get a little more room for fingers on the regular Sebenza.

Yeah...For some people, the small leaves out the pinky finger when gripping the knife, people with larger hands tend to only get 3 fingers on the ahndle when holding it firmly...for me, I get that half piny and with the lanyard its more than enough of a grip and comfortable to me...But even though my video is about it not beign too small, it is for some guys...This is just sort of a guide so people can see it being held, its hard to really tell since not everyone has the same size hands...

Very nice gesture and really useful thank you.
I think that small in this case is still a bit too big,any smaller models?
Tremendous finish on that knife clearly!

Yes, the ufman model (I know the spelling is wrong, can't remember the exact name) but its a collectors item now since its no longer beign made, its the same as the small but smaller...check out the chris reeve section of the forum for more info on that model...

Ok, I realized its stilla bit hard to understand as my ahnds are different than many of you, so here is a lineup pic of the small sebenza alogn side some familiar knives both bigger and smaller...Hope this helps you to understand a little better...

Knives from top to bottom are:

full size benchmade griptilian
N0 8 opinel
buck 112
small sebenza
standard victorinox spartan
SOG twitch II
Kershaw scallion

Looks like the same size as a Buck 110, although I would bet that the Sebbie is lighter!

sure is...the knife in the pic is the 112...its handle is thicker than the seb and as you know has brass and wood, the thinner seb sporting titanium and micarta is much lighter, but not too light, compared to the buck 112 is very light but compared to other folders its not too light...just right, lol...

Vadim Makes terrific Sheaths, as a matter of fact he's making one for my left hand Large Classic Sebenza right now. It will be my third Vess sheath and every one is a masterpiece.

very nice, looks to be a snake skin insert? What kind of snake skin is that, or maybe even a lizzard skin? I hear of toad skin being used before for inserts which actually looks nice...

It's Rattlesnake skin. Vess also has Toad skin inserts as well as several other different options.
