I got a small sebbie for christmas and the knife is very sharp until you get to the bellyof the blade. Does anyone else have the problem or should I just contact CRK? thanks for he help

The blades are grinded by hand so it can happen that it is not as sharp as it should be, however, you can just sharpen the blade yourself. If you are not satisfied contact them.

If what you are saying is correct then your tittle should have been "Small Sebenza not sharp" instead of "Small Sebenza won't hold an edge". Why don't you just sharpen it? It's no big deal really assuming you do sharpen your knives yourself. I personally have never seen a new Chris Reeve knife of any model leave the shop without being hair popping sharp, assuming the Sebenza was new when you received it but I guess anything's possible. Yes I'm sure they would sharpen it for you if you want to send it in and be without for a few weeks.

Of the 5 Sebenzas I bought, one was less sharp in the belly than the rest of of the blade, but it was still plenty sharp. I just used it until the knife needed sharpening.

Pretty simple solution to a dull blade... Sharpen it!!
You can also send it in to CRK if you like or send it
on over to me and I'll make sure you have a razor
edge you can be proud of :)

CRK will sharpen it for free, and I can imagine that if you called up the shop and told them your issue they would probably also agree to pay for the postage.

I have sharpenedit and taken it to the steel riadand strop. The edge at the belly seems to roll over on its self after light use.

I think maybe it could have been profiled too at the sweep. I'd send it in, I can sharpen but if I need to change edge geometry, I usually leave it to someone else

If you use a Spyderco Sharpmaker with the flats use light pressure and then strop on cardboard from the back of a note book then stroke again then stop again until you have no burr.

I think there should be a sticky on this one. "Remove Your Burrs" or something like that :)

My theory on this one is the belly was getting the burr formed long before the rest of the edge. Maybe leading to a real monster wire edge that would not quickly strop off just on the belly area. IDK, worth a shot.
