Small, slim, wood handled, one hander

Hello,

I am looking for recommendations on a new knife with the following attributes. I will be carrying it in my right front pocket, next to my wallet.

-Wood handles/scales. I really like the look of wood on a knife.

-Slim. I have the small Buck Vantage Avid and it is too "fat". The CRKT drifter in stainless, or Buck Squire, is about the max thickness for me.

-One hand opening. I prefer flippers, but thumb studs/holes are okay too. I also am a little leery of assisted openers, due to extra parts to wear out.

-Short-ish Length. Id say closed no longer than 3.75", blade length around 2.75", no longer than 3".

-I prefer USA made, or at least non-made in China, but that isnt a deal breaker.

-Under $60

I've been looking at the SOG twitch II but would like to explore all of the other options first.

Thanks for reading

I can't vouch for how slim it is, but I've had my eye on the Italian made Lion Steel 8210 Mini. I really like the look of the olive wood model. Might be worth a peek even though it'll run closer to $80-$100ish...

Good luck, OP! :)

I'm not aware of any knife that fulfills all of your criteria, but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there.

If you are willing to part with the wood handles, I highly recommend the Kershaw Skyline. It fulfills all of your other criteria, and is just a phenomenal knife for the price point.

OP just described what I've been looking for, for a long, long time. I'm not aware of a knife that fits, which is my torment. The Mnandi sorta fits (wood inlays, but not wood handle), and it's awesome, but it's not $50. I had a Twitch II, but not the wood model. The Twitch II was the perfect size for me, I might get another. An assisted opener with smooth handles, and cold, dry hands led to a safety concern for me. Same with the Leek. Closing a metal handled knife with cold, dry hands is a situation that can cause slippage, and an unsafe situation. I would pay a lot more than $50, and have, but have fallen short of what I want. I'm interested to see if anyone has input.

The Mnandi may be my favorite knife. I have a few of them. But they are definitely more than $60. For you and OP, have you checked out Mcusta? They make many models with wood in the $100 range. They come with VG-10 or damascus and are made in Seki City Japan. Fairly high quality for the price. The basic folder isn't all that thin, but I would think that their gentleman's folders would fit the bill.

I would second the suggestion of Mcusta. Enzo makes a folding puuko knife with the option of wood or carbon fiber handles. The under 60 dollar thing may be a problem. you can get the Mcusta for under 100.

Lone wolf swale. Around your price point, wood handles. Has thumb studs. it has just under a 3 inch blade, so it may be a little large.
